Salutations!
I searched around a little and didn't see any official welcome threads but I did see a few other folks introducing themselves here, so I'll do the same.
I stumbled across this forum while surfing Conservative blogs about a week ago. Please don't ask exactly how I found you, my memory is not what it used to be. :confused: But I Did find you, and that's what counts!
I've been an on-again/off-again member of the Civilization Fanatics Forum, which has a remarkably similar interface to this forum, though the membership is Vastly different. I'm not aware if any of you are members there, but it was originally set up as a place for players of Sid Meier's Civilization series (a turn based computer game) to gather, make suggestions, discuss history and politics, etc. As such, it is a very lively board, and attracts members from All over the world and every political stripe.
As a Conservative and a Christian, I would like to think I have been one of the few voices of reason there, but such views are most definitely in the minority. So it came as a refreshing surprise to discover a very similar forum interface Here that was comprised of folks that I have much more in common with, and who share views much closer to my own.
I look forward to getting to know you folks better and hopefully learn a great deal in the process! I do intend to keep frequenting CFC as well, because I believe that there is still hope for many of my political/ideological counterparts there and I refuse to give up hope for them. :whistle:
One thing you'll quickly learn about me is that I have a tendency to be verbose and I also tend to ramble. This in mind, I considered writing up a background to let you folks know a little bit more about my politics and my faith but I've actually already done this over on the CFC site, so I'm linking to that post here.
I have read the FAQ, but I'm still not sure if this is acceptable, so if it isn't.. Mods please feel free to delete this link.

On that note, I'll finish this up. I'm happy again to have found this place and I do hope that I can contribute in a small way to its atmosphere.
