Assume for a moment that you had two choices, you can only pick one.
You could go to jail now, wait twenty years, and then become a billionaire for the rest of your life(for 50 more years) and end your life in luxury.
Or, you could enjoy life now and be billionaire for 50 years, and then go to jail for 20 years and end your life in misery.
Which would you choose?<!-- / message -->Choose wisely.

Be a billionaire now. Why wait until you're twenty years older?
By the time twenty years have passed me I'll be 62, so I opt to enjoy the money now then jail later, cuz by the time jail comes in my later years i can plead I was a good upstanding citizen and that putting this old frail lady in jail would be cruel and unusual punishment (in other words milk the bleeding hearts for all I can get MUAHAHA).

Now, because money is useful even if you are in prison.
Yea IF you're young it would, me! Ferget it!
I'll take my chances and try to work the pity factor later.

:smirky: I'll take the money now. I don't know how long I'll live. Besides, I can enjoy the money better now, than when I'm incredibly old, at which time, I'm less likely to have a cell mate who'll find me attractive.

Buy now, pay later.
Hire the best defense lawyers. Buy the judge and the jury. Bribe the president and get a pardon.
I might not even be alive twenty years from now.
And if I am still alive, I will be an old codger at least 30 years old, anyway.
Now, if we are talking about metaphysical certainties, then there is another story to be told...

No, no, no!! Ya'll got it all wrong!!!! :)
Assume you are forever young and won't die for another thousands years!! Assume there are no lawyers, guns, etc.
Now what do you do? :D
For me, I would choose prison first.
(1) I want to die happy
(2) I know what I can look forward to(happiness, wealth, etc)
(3) I won't have to dread the future
(4) Being in prison for a little while would teach me how much I would really enjoy life once I got out.

I would choose to go to jail now, and receive rewards later. Now I am not wise enough to use them as I should (I have proven that too many times in my 42 years here on earth). By being forced to become lower on the totem pole I am able to see how life is for those on the bottom. My prayer is that I would see this, experience this, and make wiser choices for my future. Also, as I get older I'm sure I will require more money to sustain my life (medical care, special accomoodations, etc.)
I am also reminded of these words,"If therefore you have not been faithful in the use of worldly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?" John 16:11
My daughter is 11 now, so even without the money, I would choose prison after she has grown older and on her own. Not that my influence is the best on anyone, but I know that if I were to go to prison now, she would have such a rough time. She is strong but still, her dad is an asshat who has tried for so long to bring her happiness down.
it would not have anything to do with money. I would raise my child the best I could while she still needs my support for 20 years (or however much time I have until then).
I choose time, not money. now time.
It has nothing to do with money. I guess that was the question, but with or without money, I would stay out of prison as long as I could.
*edited to say: Plus, after waiting so long to go to prison, maybe in that much time I would figure out a way to get out of going to prison!!*

I'll go now, and get it over with.
Keep the billion. I won't sit in a prison cell, ever.
