Hello all! For those that do not know, I am NT's son, and he wanted me to pass this message on to all of you... They are home safe and sound but they do not have electricity, so untill they get power back he will be unable to post. My wife and I only live about 15 minutes from them but have different power providers, also, the bands of rain that came in with Rita was hitting their area harder than ours. We opted to stay after seeing all of the crazy traffic, people running out of gas, and Rita making that bigger shift to the east. Everything at our house is ok.

conservatour,
Thank you so much for posting and letting us know how NT and you are managing in this situation. Let him know many have offered prayers, thoughts, and well wishes, and they will continue until he can return. Glad you all made it safely through, and the Lord surrounded with His Providence. Tell him we'll be here when he gets back, and we're keeping the fort secure.
Many Blessings,
Hms

Praise goes to God for the deminishing of the storm from what the projection of what man said it was going to be. I was out there in the front of our house singing praises to the Lord and praying in my prayer language at 3 in the morning with gusts blowing in my face. I am a weather nut but I would not wish this destruction on anyone.
My prayer for this, and all others, was that the breath of God would cause the storm to weaken before landfall. Both Katrina and Rita did, but have you heard any of the mainstream media talk about how the storms degraded before landfall? Maybe right at the beginning, but not after the hype took over. And did any of them give God the glory? No.

Just a quick note to let you know that we finally got power back a little over an hour ago after a little more than 34 hours. I'll be back later with more details of our "adventure." For now, I'll just mention that on Wednesday it took us 13 hours to go from just south of Houston to Richardson, TX, just north of Dallas. Our son left a few hours later than we did and it took him 17 1/2 hours.

No damage to our home, but we had a lot of tree limbs down - nothing big, however.
