MADRID — An imam who wrote a book on how to beat your wife without leaving marks on her body has been ordered by a judge in Spain to study the country’s constitution.

The judge told Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, imam of a mosque in the southern resort of Fuengirola, to spend six months studying three articles of the constitution and the universal declaration of human rights.

Cultures are neither right nor wrong. They are simply different. Sometimes so different as to be incompatible. If the world just recognized that instead if trying to put all the round pegs in all the square holes, we'd go a longer way towards peace, than both side thinking they have the corner on a better way to live.

Part of the way to peace is to allow men to beat their wives if their culture permits or even requires them to do that. Not allowing them to do so is like "trying to put all the round pegs in all the square holes."

Besides, all these problems are really Bush's fault. :(
