Opera released version 7.01 of their web browser today. If you are tired of IE or just want to try something different I highly recommend Opera.

Their home page. (http://www.opera.com)
On this page (http://www.opera.com/features/) is a list of the features for Opera 7.

Tabbed browsing and skins make it a must have, along with it's speed. It is slightly faster than IE or Mozilla.

One thing I've found about using Opera here......I have to disable javascript or it crashes. Not a biggie for me.

Beyond being faster, the download is much smaller than IE, even with the Java. I haven't tried Mozilla, so I have no opinion on it.

I do have IE6 SP1 on the box, but I ordinarily use it only for surfing the MS website, which is written expressly for IE and looks like crap on Opera (6.05 more so than 7.01), and for some webcams that Opera doesn't display correctly.

Also, there are a few Java-based pages that don't run properly on Sun Java, which is what Opera uses.

I haven't noticed any crashes here due to Javascript.

One neat thing is that 7.0x installs in a separate directory, so that one can have two versions on the box. I have 6.05 and 7.01, and tend to favor 6.05 because I can do things with it that are not available in 7.01, e.g., the Hotlist in tree format.
