The Angels beat the Yankees 5-3 to win the series. All that payroll, all those stars they got just to win it all and still nothing. At least now I don't feel so bad about the Red Sox getting beat.

Prez, I'd still love the Yankees if not for Steinbrenner. I'd still like the Braves if I didn't associate them with Ted Turner, and he hasn't owned them for years. There are probably a few people on this site who freel pretty close to the same way.

Sorry, Prez, but absolutely not! All those times Yankee fans abused us Sox fans for that 86 year drought, the 2003 series, Bucky Dent in 78' and just in general being a pain.
Besides, Steinbrenner feels that money buys titles. Team unity does. I see that in all of the playoff teams except the Yankees. Knowing George, he'll go out and up his payroll another $50 million next year. (I still laugh at the acquisition of Kevin Brown) Salary cap, anyone?

for years especially when i was a little kid the Angels lost all the time and i never thought they would be the best team for once , they were once the worst team . my favorite moment in last nights game was when 2 yankee liberals smashed into each other . the yankes who have won the world series 26 times and they are no longer the best team . the yankees are the liberal team anyways (schumer, clinton) ,while the Angels represent OC (Chris Cox and Richard Nixon) . now the angels are gonna beat the Socialist Sox !!!! GO ANGELS GO ANGELS !
i will never forget this moment http://msn.foxsports.com/id/4980296_7_2.jpgLOL LOL LOL

Dont me wrong I am happy for them I think its great and I think its time my home team put some hard work into the game. They do get paid too much for throwing balls. I was happy to see the Red Sox win last year -now we dont have the Curse of Bamino to lean on.

I am a Texas Rangers Fanatic, I have never been a "Friend" of the California Angels. HOWEVER, since they beat the hated Yankees I gotta root for them the rest of the way. Any team that beats the Yankees is amoung my favorites.

When it comes to the Yankees? No! The Yankee fan base started the fued by being totally belligerent.
now we dont have the Curse of Bamino to lean on.

Any team that beats the Yankees is amoung my favorites. Oddly enough I like the Rangers too (unless they are playing the Angels) I noticed the last time the Angels and the Rangers played, those Texas Rangers sure are a bunch of really big ole strappin' younguns and *phew* good looking players. I felt old just watchin them play.

I wouldn’t gloat too much, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Boston</st1:place></st1:City> has the second highest payroll and they didn’t even win a playoff game. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Well, the Yanks have had the highest payroll for how long now and haven't won the WS yet with it. No doubt, George will buy even more talent and add to it.
BTW, hope you like Bellhorn and Embry. I don't miss em' a bit.

For real, and the Red Sox aren't buying it either. While the Yanks and Sox fight to outspend each other and fight for the AL East, other teams are quietly creeping up on them and getting better and remaining competitive. Cleveland, Minnesota and Oakland are 3 such examples in the AL while in the NL, St. Louis, Houston, Florida and even Washington aren't bad clubs.
