:moo: There's not much to report here, except that I've been really busy at work, & in spite of my complaints in another thread, work is going fine. We're really thrilled with our decision to move up here, especially knowing that we would have been in harm's way, had we stayed where we were.

:unsmile: Of course, some friends of mine still live in Jasper. One of them once registered at FC, as "Theedge". When he returned home, he had a tree on his roof, poking a hole in his bedroom ceiling. But, he & his wife have worked hard to repair the damage. Still, times are hard there. They lacked electricity, & lines were long for gasoline. Another friend, who lived on the banks of the Angelina River, had his entire home destroyed.

:unsmile: Y'all can remember these people in your prayers, & when Thanksgiving comes a month from now, remember how God has blessed you. You don't know when something like this could happen to you. I never thought a hurricane could wreak such havoc on a town that's 80 miles inland.

:unsmile: On another sad note, I once asked, "What's your favorite beach?" My answer was "Holly Beach, LA". I took Xane swimming there, this past June. I'm sorry to report that that town was totally destroyed by Rita. Nothing remains. I have several T-shirts that I bought at the T&T Grocery. I guess they're collectors items, now. I only hope the owners of the store were able to salvage all those beautifully painted seashell mobiles & hand-crafted windchimes hanging from the gift shop ceiling, before they evacuated. Somebody had worked really hard on those. Holly Beach will be missed.

1. What's your favorite Alan Jackson song? That's country music isn't it? I have no idea the name of a song by this man...
2. What's your favorite brand of bread? Wonder Big. I am not so particular, although I regret having negative feelings about wheat bread for a while, I have trained my daughter to be afraid of it ..
3. What's your favorite rail car? Is this a train car? I am trying to think of the names of them. Reading railroad?
4. What's the last national park you visited? Yosemite. Yes it has been forever but I loved it, very fond of the west as a whole.
5. Describe your favorite clock. My UK Wildcats batter operated wall clock! It hasn't been on the right time in years, I just like how it looks :)
6. What foods do you like with garlic? Lasagna, or this dish with Penne pasta, marinara, itallian sausage, and enough garlic to make your skin seep the smell for days! Oh I also like it in salad dressing.
7. Do you know your license plate number? (You don't have to reveal it.) haha right now it is temp tags, still waiting on my title for the new car. My old plates were CAR5634. I was going to cover up the 63 so it looked like Car 54! But that is not legal.
8. What's your favorite collegiate athletic conference? SEC? As long as it is not Big 10, tis good! My team is independent (dorks) so it really doesn't matter.

5. Describe your favorite clock. I have the clock that my grandparents had in their house. I remember counting to twelve in my grandmother's lap when it chimed noon. I'm getting a little veklempt just remembering it now.

To be really technical, the last National Park I visited was Great Smoky Mountains. But the last unit of the National Park Service I visited was the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. But I also live in a unit of the National Park Service. It's the New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve.
5. Describe your favorite clock.
That's easy. It's a box with clear cover over the face, a black background, and stylized images of the NYC skyline with the night sky above. Then the image of an apple in the middle with clock hands and the words "New York". All these are flourescent colors. There's a "black light" hidden at the bottom and when you turn on the switch in the cord, the buildings, clock hands and words light up as if they were neon.
I got it off eBay.
6. What foods do you like with garlic?
Bread (garlic bread), and pizza. That's all I can think of.
7. Do you know your license plate number? (You don't have to reveal it.)
It's a Pinelands license plate. Yes, I know the number.

The grandfather clock my dad bought for my mother (that will one day belong to me).

Atomic clocks at the U.S. Naval Observatory and the National Institute of Standards. They're Always on time. :grin:
