More than 53 million Muslims in Europe
Survey shows Islam on the rise across continent

WETZLAR, Germany – More than 53 million Muslims live in Europe – 14 million of them in the European Union, according to newly released figures.

The Central Institute's Islam Archives in Soest, Germany, says the number of Muslims in Europe has increased by 800,000 over the last two years, reports the German evangelical news agency IDEA.

The institute’s director, Salim Abdullah, says that among the 25 EU states, France has the highest number of Muslims – 5.5 million – followed by Germany with 3.2 million, the United Kingdom with 1.5 million and Italy with 1 million.

Welp, I don't have exact figures, but estimate Germany's population at 80 million, England's at 50 million and Italy's at 40 million. Muslims are still very much in the minority in all those countries.

Besides that is the fact that Islam is NOT monolithic. We hear about the crazies and their applauding spectators. We never hear about the Muslims who just want to have a life, which they couldn't have "back home."

Finally, Europe has a history of xenophobia. The day will arrive when Germans get fed up and turn on Islam. If history is any guide, that will be one ugly day. And once the Germans start it, expect the others to follow suit in some way.

Islam is a threat, no doubt about it. But let's not exaggerate it.

I'm not surprised. So much of Europe has surrendered to terrorist that it's become an easy immigration target. I think they deserve them and the baggage they come with.
