Ted are you into day-trading? If so, do you have a formula? Or is that secret? I'm thinking of buying some stock using someone like "e-trade." What's your opinion of these?

I confess I sometimes make short term buys just for the fun of it with "throw-away" money. I wouldn't recommend using any serious money for it. But, by all means, have fun with it, and find the cheapest on-line broker, because those brokerage fees add up if you actively trade.

It may pay you to pay extra for "Stop Loss" buying. You pay a little more each trade, but you set up a 10% maximum loss (or whatever percentage you are comfortable with). Unless you are able to constantly moniter the price, you will be assured that your money wouldn't be cut in half or worst with some really bad news hitting the street.

It's true that some, if not most stocks, seem to have a "trading range" over the short term (a few days or months). If you can hit them at their low ebb and sell at the high range, you can make some bucks.

Again, I warn you to be careful, and don't get addicted to it. It's pretty darn close to gambling.

If your really interested, and by the way, no I don't have a formula, there are plenty of sites on the web to explain the various chart theories, momentum plays, etc.
