Yesiree, ..& that is what it is going to turn out to be. Bet on the fact that American military personnel in the future are going to find themselves dragged into civilian courts EVERYTIME a terrorist is questioned, & interrogated, & if liberal apologists get their way like Dick Durbin has opined that terrorists should be given "constitutional rights", ....might as well handcuff, & put a noose around America's neck!
McCain KNOWS full well America is not, & does NOT engage in torture in the convential definition. It may be true that some of the most violent, & ruthless terror suspects are mistreated, humiliated, or offended, ..but not tortured!
McCain is, & has been nothing but a sell out, & his sponsored torture bill amendment is an absolute attempt to curry favor from the liberal democrats, & the scandalous media.
It was the same when McCain had an opportunity to shut the mouth of John Kerry who kept charging mass murder's, & torture committed by american soldiers during the Viet-Nam conflict!
By McCains deliberate silence then, ..& now by his Torture Amendment Bill, ..McCain is giving credibility to the charges of torture which will result in America can be hated all over the world, ..which will put our soldiers in even more greater harm, & stifle future efforts in the war on terror!
McCain is simply currying favor to his so called "LIBERAL" political adversaries, ..who in fact are REALLY his friends, & McCain loves the praise of the left, & the praise of the mainstream media.
Has McCain forgotten about ALL the damage that the Church Committee did to our CIA intel services, & how it has hampered the agency, & has McCain conveniently forgotten Liberal whacko Jaime Gorelick's "wall of seperation" which actually makes it more difficult to "SHARE, & IDENTIFY" suspected terrorists operating within the confines of America?
There WILL be other Republicans that vote in favor of it BECAUSE the filthy lying media is slick in the way THEY present that topic to the world viewers, such as: "If anybody OPPOSES this torture Ammendment, ..the media then CHARGERS that THEY must be in FAVOR of it, ..& who in the hell in America actually wants to be an advocate of torture?
