by Amber Dolle - Behind every good man is a good woman. How many times have we heard that age-old saying? Sure, some women who still believe that our gender is being suppressed by men might hear that quip and immediately think: discrimination.
I, however – as a woman – do not take offense in the least. I hear that quote and immediately think that when it comes to their husbands, women have quite a bit of power to influence a man’s decisions. That being said, I wonder just how much influence Melinda Gates, wife of the world’s richest man, Microsoft’s Bill Gates, wields when it comes to allocating the millions of dollars she and her husband give to “charity” every year. I question this because Bill and Melinda’s foundation has given millions to some of the most anti-woman, anti-child, anti-family organizations in existence.

Melinda Gates has a tremendous opportunity to make a difference by supporting real pro-family organizations rather than those who support the killing of children. In 2005 alone, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gave a $3 million grant to the International Planned Parenthood Federation. Why then, does a professed Catholic, choose to support a group that facilitates the killing of innocent preborn children? I don’t have the answer to that question. I guess we should ask Melinda.

Just another pair of beautiful people who feel "guilty" about their wealth and think they can asuage that guilt by squandering money on liberal causes.

Why do liberal causes seem so appealing though? The liberals I have met and spoken to in length on their "causes" are the most self fulfilling elitists in the world. And how are causes which support the death of innocent babies so appealing?

How shameful that those are "liberal" causes anyway. That in itself would make me want to change parties.

I guess that if you have that much money, you have no need to be morally discriminitory on where you throw it.

Exactly, Melz.

"Liberal causes" are appealing because they mean "goodness with a minimum effort." Ask those who vote democrat why they do it and they will immediately tell you "because I care." That's it. Period. 99% of the time, these are people who don't want to do anything for "the poor", so they vote for the party that purports to do what they don't want to be bothered with. That's why they love big government so much. Once Nanny Government takes over, they are off the hook.

This is even more noticeable among the rich. They donate millions to "liberal causes", vote democrat, etc. That way, they feel they have done their job by "the needy" and are off the hook. Not to mention that it is chic, a must, to support liberal causes in Brentwood, Georgetown, Manhattan, Hollywood, etc. No rich elitist worth his/her salt would be caught dead supporting anti-abortion, and all the other causes that superstitious, bigoted, ignorant rednecks (that's you and me, dear) support. Think how embarassing for them, if they got caught doing that.

Of course, I'm sure there are exceptions to this rule. But, in my experience, they are few and far between.
