Statement by Senator Feinstein in Advance of Supreme Court Confirmation Hearings for Judge Samuel A. Alito (http://blog.thedemocraticdaily.com/?p=1584)
On Monday the Senate Judiciary Committee begins the nomination hearings for Samuel Alito. Senator Dianne Feinstein released the following statement late yesterday in advance of the hearings: “This is probably the most important appointment in more than a decade because it carries with it the balance of the Court on many critical issues. Justice O’Connor had a very unique role in that she often was the voice of moderation. Therefore Judge Alito’s views are very important.
If a Supreme Court appointment was just a mathematical computation of the law, it could be done by computer. But the fact of the matter is that questions of law are often influenced by individual’s judicial philosophy and temperament. Therefore it is important for the Senate to learn about Judge Alito’s views on key issues, such as:
· A woman’s right to choose;
· One man one vote;
· Regulation of firearms;
· Expansion of Executive Power beyond the law;
· Civil rights;
· Environment; and
· The separation of Church and State.
Because in 1985 he expressed his personal legal views on many of the above subjects, it is relevant to see if Judge Alito still holds those views today.”

I love it when liberals babble about O'Connor being "moderate."
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah ... Therefore it is important for the Senate to learn about Judge Alito’s views on key issues, such as:
· A woman’s right to choose;
IOW, the murder of the innocent.
· One man one vote;
Agreed. And preferably, said man should be alive, not a criminal, and a (legal) citizen of the USA.
· Regulation of firearms;
Except those in liberals' possession.
· Expansion of Executive Power beyond the law;
But only when the president is a democrat. Otherwise, it's "abuse of power." :rolleyes:
· Civil rights;
Correction: LIBERALS' civil rights. Feel free to go against the rights of conservatives any time.
· Environment; and
· The separation of Church and State.
Neither to be found in the Consititution, but that never stopped liberals like Feinstein from blabbling about them.
Because in 1985 he expressed his personal legal views on many of the above subjects, it is relevant to see if Judge Alito still holds those views today.”
Yeah. Unlike Hillary, he might (gasp!) stick to his principles. Can't have that.
This fat bitch has some nerve.

We can exect the left to pull out all stops on this nomination... They cant force their agenda on us thru the elected branches of the government because the people have chosen conservatives in the majority... So the SCOTUS is the last bastion of liberalism at the federal level (disregarding the liberal invasion of cabinet level departments)...
For years they have held a left-leaning sway on the high court... In truth, even WITH Alito the court is truly balanced in ideology... Out of 9 total justices, only 4 will be true conservatives... Leaving 4 liberals and one loose canon who can swing one way or another on any given day... That is balanced...
But then, when have Communists ever wanted fairness or balance... They want FULL control of the court... If they have it, they can circumvent the President and Congress and legistlate from the bench...
I think what really scares the left is that with Alito on the bench, they are only one justice away from losing the court to the Right - an illness, an accident, a sudden retirement, and Bush has the power to move the court out of their hands FOR YEARS... Which is a very real possibility...

It pisses me off when fox news calls her a moderate.
OhCONer is as liberal as souter but she intentional sides with the GOP 0.1% of the time to make herself look like a moderate in the MSM's eyes.
John Roberts and Rehnquist(dead) are about as mainstream as you can get. While alito and scalia and thomas are the little right of center.

It appears that you're using MS Word to compose the posts. Look for crap like this -- < O : p< /O : p (without the spaces) -- and delete it.
7. Who was the most annoying MoonBat this year?
:sulk: Diane Fineswine, who continues to think she can impose legallized abortion on the rest of the country. Newsflash to the bitch: YOU LOST THE ELECTIONS, YOU NO LONGER GET TO CALL THE SHOTS. SHUT UP, & CRAWL BACK UNDER YOUR CALIFORNIA ROCK. THEN, GO SCREW YOURSELF.
8. Who will win this years mid term elections? Pubs? Dems?
:moo: The Republicans will soar in the polls, just in time for the elections. Then, W can appoint whoëver he wants to the Supreme Court, & the above-mentioned WHORE can do nothing but turn red in the face.

Stuff like this ( < O : p< /O : p ) isn't smiley codes. If you're not using Word, who knows where it comes from? It's definitely Word's non-standard HTML.
Ex: < p> and < /p> (minus spaces) are HTML paragraph opening and closing tags. < o:p> and < /o:p> are commonly found in pages written using Word HTML.
Importing text: Use Wordpad instead of Microsoft Word
Word document imports will generally be littered with formatting tags including < P class=MsoNormal> and < o:p>< /o:p>. These tags will cause problems in certain browser displays. The trick is to use Wordpad instead of Microsoft Word. Wordpad is fully compatible with Word, and lives under your start menu under Program Files>Accessories>Wordpad. You may wish to put a shortcut to Wordpad in your menubar....Editing text elements in ICMS (http://abacus.bates.edu/webguide/editing/)
Oh, well. Eliminating them allowed replicating the points.
