I know, I know but Tom Cruise isn't actually in the running. LGF: "It's end of the year list time, and I think we'll launch a new tradition: the LGF Idiotarian of the Year Award."
This is a great idea and though it isn't a novel one I really enjoy these type of polls. John Hawkins did one back in 2002 for Right Wing News (http://www.postchronicle.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/www.rightwingnews.com) called 'The Twenty Most Annoying Liberals In The United States For 2002 (http://www.rightwingnews.com/special/annoyinglib.php)'
The finalists for the second round in LGF's current poll are: Hugo Chavez, Cindy Sheehan and The New York Times. Cindy Sheehan is running away with the vote and frankly will end up walking away with the coveted trophy.
Cindy Sheehan has attempted to mislead the public over the exact circumstances of her son's re-enlistment, and has publicly refused to pay taxes, explaining that she "won't owe a penny" [to the I.R.S.] because the war is "illegal".
She is a woman consumed in her quest to unseat the President, perhaps believing that its fruition will allow her to expunge her own guilt.
She has claimed that all of this nonsense that she is engaging in was in some way inspired by the death of her son and his alleged unwillingness to participate in the Iraq war.
But her son was a grown man, a 24-year-old patriot who had already seen one term of duty and had proudly re-enlisted of his own free will. Already a veteran, he could not be accused of being naive nor of being tricked by slick military recruiters, as Sheehan has alleged in the past.
