In reality, the cause of Liberal cowardice lies in Liberal ideology and the fact that Liberals regard politics as religion and politicians as its gods. Understanding that fact, we can understand why Liberals deny their ideology, even to the point of disguising it as "Progressive," "Moderate," or "Centrist" in a shameless attempt to gull a citizenry which is hostile to the tenets of Liberalism. To illustrate, we need only examine two truths regarding Liberals and national defense.
Liberal love of the "international community"
When a President places American safety above the demands of the "international community," the nation is sure to be inundated with the sophomoric weeping and calculated anger of Liberals who decry his "cowboy" foreign policy. Such a reaction might be justified if the "international community" had a long and distinguished record of protecting the world's people. But if we consider the truth, we know why Liberals such as Senators Kerry and Clinton speak of secret plans rather than speaking honestly about a "community" into whose hands they would place the lives of our children.
