I was gone for 5 days and shut the power off to my 'puter. When I got back and fired it up, I'm not always getting all of the images on websites. I noticed it first on my browser page. Also, here on FC I don't get the image at the top of the page and instead of the smilie images showing up, the names of the smilies are listed.

Some web sites load up completely--any ideas what happened while my 'puter was shut down?

Try a shift-F5 and see if it reloads with images. It might take awhile. Sounds like your 'puter is trying to use your cached images and not finding them.

You'd do well to clear your Temporary Internet files and reboot.

From Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > General Tab ... should be a button to clear Temp Internet Files.

Tried those, but no results. But here's a little more info: I use Nescape 7.0 but had Net 8.1 loaded though I never used it b/c this old dog don't like to learn new tricks. So I tried Net 8 and bingo--all images on FC load up. But when I clicked on a link, I didn't get a new window like before. So then I tried with Net 7 and still have no images on some websites.

Sounds like a settings issue. BTW, having two versions of a program on one machine is almost certainly going to result in conflicts.

Why use bloatware when Firefox and Opera are better, smaller, and faster?

Doc, they've both been on my machine for at least 6 mo. w/o any problem, but I will dump one. Also will look into Foxfire and Opera.

Loaded up Foxfire and on FC web I get the smilies, but no animation--is there a setting I need to access or turn on?

Another problem with Foxfire--how do you copy/paste? I tried to add a link in a thread reply, but couldn't get a copied URL to paste into my reply. When I highlight text and right click on the URL I get the Cut/copy/paste box. I click on copy, but when I go to paste and rt. click, I don't get a box with paste in it--instead it has Back/Reload/Bookmark this page/etc.

So far I'm not too excited about FF!

Hmm...now everything is working--web sites fully load, smilies are there and animated. Strange.

OK, this morning this problem popped up again--same as last January, only this time my 'puter worked great last night, but not this morning. Also noticed this time that pop-up ads are blank, so does it have something to do with my video card maybe? Or display settings?

Image problemI have a problem with my image too. It keeps getting fatter and greyer.
