<TR><TD colSpan=2 height=10>WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Representative Lynn Woolsey (D-Petaluma) today issued the following statement regarding Cindy Sheehan’s arrest in the gallery of the House of Representatives before the State of the Union address. Mrs. Sheehan was Rep. Lynn Woolsey’s guest to the President’s State of the Union address.

“Since when is free speech conditional on whether you agree with the President? Cindy Sheehan, who gave her own flesh and blood for this disastrous war, did not violate any rules of the House of Representatives. She merely wore a shirt that highlighted the human cost of the Iraq war and expressed a view different than that of the President. Free speech and the First Amendment exist to protect dissenting statements like Ms. Sheehan’s last night.

“Stifling the truth will not blind Americans to the immorality of sending young Americans to die in an unnecessary war, against a nation that posed no threat to our security. The President's speech last night was yet another attempt to distort history, as he suggested -- once again -- that the 9/11 terrorists came from Iraq. Everyone knows this is not true. We must not be afraid to say that the emperor has no clothes. It's time to bring our troops home.”

Representative Woolsey is a fool.

The State of the Union is a Constitutional requirement and an address to the American People. The President (whether DNC or RNC) needs to have the opportunity to make his case and the American People need to have the opportunity to hear it.

This is not the time or place for protestors. Better that they empty out the gallery out if partisan politicans are going to abuse their privledges by inviting the lawless dregs of society in to disrupt the lawful proceedings of our government.

Free speech? The SOTU ain't a forum. It ain't a dialogue. It ain't a place for differing or dissenting views. Its A SPEECH! Its not Shitcan's speech. Its the President's speech. Its not about the bitch. Its about the POTUS's annual docket.

Free speech? Eh?

A local radio host today knew Woolsey. He sold the house he grew up in to her when he was a kid. Apparently, she was an absentee mother. Her two boys were neighborhood hellions. They were latchkey orphans who caused trouble. How do people like this get elected? They are the furthest thing we want representing us; Woolsey, Barbara Boxer, Maxine Waters...

Who votes for these sickening sacks of shit?

One wonders if this Woolsey character is a regular attendee of the Communist gatherings we see Cindy displayed so prominently at...

From the article:
"Since when is free speech conditional"

Hmmmm, one wonders if Ms. Woolsey was ALSO speaking for the PRO-Troops Senator's wife who was ALSO ejected from the SOTU? I would venture a guess that THAT she would have no problem with, :smirky: .

How did this get to be a free speech issue anyway?

It has no more to do with free speech than if I went to a screening of Brokeback Mountain and shouted down the audio.

...Who votes for these sickening sacks of shit?I would assume that would be those freaks of nature that you have featured in those protest pics you posted earlier... The slimey, greasy-haired, perpetually-stoned, promoters of Karl Marx...

Woolsey's a member of The Congressional Progressive Caucus (http://www.congressionalprogressivecaucus.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=27).

Woolsey didn't listen to the same speech I did. I never heard Bush say that Iraq was responsible for 911 in the state of the union speech. Or, anywhere else either.

Yall remember her... When her Congressional subcommittee was being briefed by a rep from NASA about the Mars Rover, her contribution was to ask if the Rover was gonna land anywhere near the spot where the astronauts landed...

I'll give yall a moment to let that sink in... :)

Even John Conyers looked like he wanted to say, "Somebody tell her..." ;)

That reminds me of another (don't know if he's in that group mentioned though). Who was the congressman that waxed eloquent on the floor concerning sharks still swimming the shipping lanes between here and Africa waiting for slaves to be dropped overboard on route to America to be sold? Rush once showed a clip of him (doing the above) on his old TV show, and I thought I would fall OUT of my seat laughing so hard.

(BTW, sure do wish Rush would do another TV show, I loved his show and miss it http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/icon9.gif ).

It was Major Owens, Democrat from New York's 11th district. Not surprisingly, Owens has an American Conservative Union rating of 0% and an Americans for Democratic Action rating of 90%, which means he is as flaming a liberal as a person can get.

Democrats think if you can't be witty, be cutting. If you can't be cutting, be vicious. If you can't be vicious, be stupid.

But somehow they always end up being vapid

As dumb as these liberal House Democrats are, do you think they're really any dumber than Ted Kennedy, who--whenever he opens his mouth nowadays--seems to say something that reminds us all of Chappaquiddick?

Now you know why I like to say, "Never overestimate the intelligence of a liberal."
