Note that upgrading to any 1.5.x.x version from an earlier version will result in some extensions not working. This is not a major issue, but it requires downloading extensions that are designed for 1.5.x.x.

The OS isn't specified. Since the vulnerability is in the program rather than the OS, it may be platform-independent. It wouldn't hurt to DL the latest version IAC.
