John Boehner (http://javascript<b></b>:siteSearch('John Boehner');) of Ohio was elected House majority leader Thursday to replace indicted Rep. Tom DeLay.
Boehner defeated Rep. Roy Blunt (http://javascript<b></b>:siteSearch('Roy Blunt');) of Missouri, 122-109, after lagging behind his rival in a first, inconclusive ballot....So... Anyone know this Boehner guy? How's he stack up to the FC standard?

Democrats watched with interest, ready to pounce on the winner..."No matter who Republicans elect, it's easy to show they're supporting more of the same ... part of the same pay-to-play system that's made Washington the mess that it is right now," said Bill Burton, a spokesman for the House Democratic campaign organization.Well they would know about "more of the same"... ;)

I've never heard of the guy. Anyone know him? What's his conservative rating?

From what I understand of him, Warlady, he's more of a reformer of the GOP and not even supposed to have been in the radar for the position. Know what? Maybe this is what the GOP needed, someone unexpected.

Well he is here in my state and I know little to nothing about him. Although, yes I have heard his name thrown around a bit, so I am not all confused at least.

I have never heard something bad, if that makes it any better? There are bigger fish to fry here in a conservative state filled with liberals trying to sneak their way into government.

I will peruse around and see what I can find though.

Okay I just went to the forum full of liberal F-bombs and so far the only people who have posted about the Boehner situation are liberal F-bombs. They hate him. And said he is corrupt and compared him to Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney.

Judging simply on the fact of the two morons who posted about him, I say YAY, good move, good decision! These two are the most anti-America liberal shits I have ever viewed "e-writing" from. Whatever they hate, I usually like !

Beohner voted AGAINST securing the border and denying amnesty. One of just 17 Republicans to do so. He's one of those cheap labor, guest worker amnesty, open borders type. Just who Bush wanted. Blunt, the man Boehner defeated, was FOR controlling the border. The New World Order just elected its own House Majority leader.

Mr. Blunt, the acting House majority leader, voted for last month's crackdown on illegal immigration and a 2004 amendment that said local law-enforcement officials should be allowed to report illegal aliens to federal authorities. He also voted against a 2002 bill that was termed a mini-amnesty for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens under Section 245(i) of the immigration code.
Mr. Boehner voted the opposite way each time, to the chagrin of those seeking more limits on immigration.
"I know how he feels about the issue -- he is absolutely opposed to what we are trying to accomplish," said Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican and the leader of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus.
Mr. Tancredo said Mr. Blunt, however, is open to a get-tough approach.
"Blunt is someone I can work with on this issue. I believe he is fairly committed to making it work," he said.
One Republican aide who asked not to be named said Mr. Boehner's vote against the immigration bill was "sending tremors through the caucus."
The vote came while most House Republicans were moving in the opposite direction -- toward a crackdown on illegal immigration. Mr. Boehner cast one of 17 Republican "no" votes on the bill.

Well Blunt is now the House Majority Whip. Hopefully he will whip Boehner into shape.
