NRSC censoring comments (http://www.savethegop.com/archives/2006/02/06/nrsc-censoring-comments/)
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (http://www.nrsc.org/) is now censoring comments on their website which are critical of them for supporting Lincoln Chafee over Steve Laffey (http://www.electlaffey.com/) in the Rhode Island US Senate race. They have deleted a large number of comments, all of which contained no profanity or anything derogatory beyond being critical of the NRSC for endorsing a liberal Republican over a conservative one.
See for yourself (http://www.nrsc.org/newsdesk/article.aspx?ID=1590). It looks like there used to be nine comments there, but now there is only one.
We’re not sure how many they’ve deleted, but we know for sure they deleted Mark’s comment, which he posted below.

We all know it’s bad, now let’s take action (http://www.savethegop.com/archives/2006/02/06/we-all-know-its-bad-now-lets-take-action/)
Lincoln Chafee is an embarassment to anyone who thinks the Republican party ought to be a conservative one, yet the NRSC keeps dumping money into his race.
Now they’ve violated Reagan’s 11th Amendment. By way of NRO’s Reconcilable Differences blog we learn that they’re touting an anti-Steve Laffey ad (http://www.nrsc.org/newsdesk/document.aspx?ID=966). Laffey is a center-right Republican who has launched a primary challenge against Chafee. To add insult to conservative injury, they have been censoring comments on their website. (http://conways.nationalreview.com/archives/089405.asp)
Frankly the NRSC ought to be taken to the woodshed for their low behavior. National Review (http://www.nationalreview.com/editorial/the_editors200602060730.asp) has posted an editorial outlining the case against Chafee, but now its necessary to make sure the message gets through to the NRSC. I’m open to suggestions… CPAC is right around the corner…

When will they get the message? (http://www.savethegop.com/archives/2006/01/30/when-will-they-get-the-message/)
Lincoln Chafee is not a Republican. He did not vote for tax cuts. He did not vote for the war in Iraq. He did even not vote for President Bush in 2004.
And today we learned that he will not vote for Samuel Alito’s nomination to the Supreme Court tomorrow.
And yet, the NRSC has spent hundreds of thousands - perhaps millions - of dollars in Rhode Island on an ad campaign attacking Chafee’s conservative primary opponent. They have made it clear that Chafee’s holding his Senate seat is a priority important enough to divert funds away from other races - such as Rick Santorum’s in Pennsylvania.
http://www.cranstonri.com/images/mayor_photo.jpgNever mind that Steven Laffey, twice-elected Mayor of Cranston Rhode Island, a city with a 5-1 Democratic registration advantage, has proven his ability to win Democratic votes. Never mind that since his election as Mayor in 2002 he has doubled the Republican voter registration in the city. Never mind that he would be a much more reliable vote for President Bush’s mostly conservative agenda.
Laffey is a proven candidate, who has shown an amazing ability to win voters to the Republican party by pursuing a conservative agenda - a sharp contrast to Chafee, who wins Democratic voters by voting like a Democrat.
Perhaps, just perhaps, Chafee’s vote against Alito will send a wake-up call to Karl Rove, Elizabeth Dole, Ken Mehlman, and President Bush himself to the truth. That if we want to pursue a conservative agenda - in the short run and the long run - we need to run conservative candidates.
Until then, we need to fight our battles for the conservative movement on our own, with our own party leaders often lining up against us. But hey, thats half the fun.

Traitor (http://www.savethegop.com/archives/2006/01/30/traitor/)
Well Senator Lincoln Chafee has decided to be a traitor to his party and vote against confirming (http://www.abc6.com/engine.pl?station=wlne&id=18832&template=breakout_top_story.shtml&dateformat=%25M+%25e,%25Y)Alito to the Supreme Court. I see two things here, one this is just more proof (as if we did have enough) that Chafee is a RINO and second, Chafee has primary challenge and just ensured himself a defeat. So I guess we may come out ahead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------.

Chafee votes NO to war with Iraq.
Chafee votes NO on taxcuts.
Chafee votes for Health Care.
Chafee votes for Higher Taxes.
Chafee is a staunch PORK supporter.
Chafee is Pro-Abortion and Pro-Gay Marriage
Chafee voted against Samuel Alito.
Chafee is Pro-Gun Control.
Chafee is against wire tapping.
Chafee is against the patriot act.

And what is the GOP getting out of this Liberal besides the fact that Chafee's dad was part of GWB's 'Skullz and Bones' secret society at Yale ?

If they're supporting Chaffee they're insane. He was the ONLY Republican to vote against Alito.

Not only "support" , but , they are attacking his opponent and trying to smear Laffey as a "Right -winger" ... the NRSC are just Democrat-right ...

Not only "supporty" , but , they are trying to smear Laffey as a "Right -winger" ... they are just Democrat-left ...

The fact the GOP/NRSC is smearing laffey is bad sign that they might also smear george allen and favor Guilianni or McCain in 08.

His vote against war with Iraq pushes me to approve John Kerry better then Chafee. Chafees support of Socialist programs shows that even Liberaltarians should disapprove of Chafee.
Chafee hasnt done anything for the party of GWB so it is insane that they are helping chafee.

Scary, ain't it? Glad I didn't donate this year.

I havent ever donated to GOP yet. Glad I havent and they are wondering why they are behind in fundraising this year.

I think the GOP is trying to change its platform to Pro-Socialism/Pro-Abortion without the peoples approval. They seem to think they can get rid of us. If the GOP loses in 08 its gonna be their fault for endorsing RINOs who use smear tactics against the 'Christian Right'.

Tom Coburn , George Allen, Tancredo are all ignored by the MSM/FOX.
FOX/MSM go out of their way to put the spotlight on Guiliani/McCain/Pataki.

A GOP conservative 'Lynsey Graham' entered the FOX spotlight as soon as he joined the gang of 14. If thats what it takes, then Maybe George Allen has got to criticise the president on Immigration to get on TV.

No no no ...if the GOP loses , it will be the Tru Conservatives fault for not voting for RINO's ... I've heard that over and over .... if we don't swallow the crap spoon fed to us by the party , we just don't care about America ....
