I guess this could qualify for another category, but I am truly wondering if any AOL users on this board can verify what this blogger says.....

Internet giant actively sponsors homosexuality

Some things we all know and just make us want to scream. Many of you out there have run into problems with AOL, many of you out there LOVE AOL.
Myself, I have a stout loathing for them. This stems from the fact that I despise how they pick and choose what emails they let their members receive. They use complex filters, which actually read your emails searching for what they deem inappropriate. This in itself does not sound too bad, except that more often than not, this means that emails containing references to conservative organizations, Christian organizations tend to be blocked.
If an email to your friend says something in it that an AOL employee doesn't like, like something against the homosexual lobby or perhaps something that is against the abortion industry... well your email may or may not get there.
This has always really burned me up.
Guy Adams has written a great article about the extreme liberal bent of AOL, shown below. Guy is a good conservative, a proud Christian, a law enforcement officer and a man who steps up to help others in his community.

It's true in a way. AOL has mail filters that screen for spam, porn, hate speech, etc. Unfortunately, the 'hate speech' category can sometimes filter out conservative messages, but they aren't singled out to my knowledge. All sorts of legitimate mail gets caught in those filters. An AOL subscriber would need to verify this, but I believe you can edit or turn those filters off.

However, there is a deliberate censorship regarding the use of AOL for mass mail. AOL use what it calls a "White Spam List", which is basically a list of their subscribers that are allowed to send mass mail. To be on the list, you have to agree to certain rules, mostly concerning not sending spam, but that also include a provision that they can remove you from the list at any time, usually if complaints are received, for any reason. Some conservative mass mailers have been removed from the list because of as little as one complaint from a liberal leaning recipient, even though every one of those mass mailings contains an opt-out option at the bottom. Some have been bumped from the list with no complaints whatsoever, just because of disagreement with the political message. Basically, the claim is that the conservative message is "offensive" and must therefore be stopped. AOL has at times been quite blunt with the authors of these conservative mailings, telling them outright that their political philosophy does not match that of AOL, period, end of story. I suspect that is what this link is referring to.

Seems like a good response in this latest instance of censorship by the Left is to drop AOL as one's ISP. There are plenty of alternative ISP's to choose from.

Agreed.
