Police Say Sugar Brought To School Look-Alike Drug

(CBS) AURORA Police in Aurora have confirmed that a 12-year-old boy who said he brought powdered sugar to school for a science project last week has been charged with a felony for possessing a look-alike drug.

The sixth grade student at Waldo Middle School in Aurora also was suspended for two weeks from school after showing the bag of powdered sugar to his friends.

Yes the story said the kid told his friends it was coke when they asked, then he stated 'just kidding' guess just saying it makes one a felon now?

When I was in 1st to 2nd grade(early 1990's) we could still use plastic knifes for lunch. Around that time (I dont remember exactly when) they all the sudden banned knifes and we had to use the spoonfork combo thing.

Back then you got in trouble if you said the F word and you got in trouble if you said the N word. Eventually a Incident happend and the N word became an automatic suspension and dentention. I never called a person a N but few a times I was called a Cracker and some of my friends got called beaners.

The double standard became that you can call a white person a cracker and a mexican a beaner but you cannot at all call a black person the N word. I saw the change in schools growing up. It must really be bad in todays schools.

In 1980 no self-respecting small town boy was seen without a 6" Buck Knife in a leather sheath on his belt. In class. Every day. We had pocket knives in our pockets and blow guns in our lockers. 'chuks. Throwing stars. AR15's in the truck...and the teachers had pistols under the car seats and sometimes in their desk. We were known to store 12GA shotguns in the principal's office during deer season...

Not one person was ever shot in my school or any school in southern Indiana during my entire 12 years to the best of my knowledge with all that ordnance lying about. I don't think anyone was even stabbed, certainly not fatally...

We used stainless steel in the cafeteria...from grade 1 on...

Seems if that was included in the article it would help determine if the kid had just made a joke or was he acting like a drug dealer to impress his pals.

If it was a case of the kid wanting to play drug dealer then let him play it all the way.
