Woman puts 'offender' sign on wrong house
Associated Press
February 10, 2006
BELLA VISTA, Ark. --A woman in Benton County hung a sign on a neighbor's door warning people that the man who lived there was a sex offender.
But there were two problems: she had the wrong house, and even if she had the right house, police say sex offender notifications can't be used to harass released convicts.
"Don't play here. Child molester lives here," the sign said, according to a police report..............http://www.boston.com/news/odd/articles/2006/02/10/woman_puts_offender_sign_on_wrong_house/

"The whole point of this is to be able to keep your family and your neighborhood safe from these people, but you can't harass them," Shrum said.
Why do they have to take all of our fun away?

BELLA VISTA, Ark.
This woman's an idiot. She should have known Bill Clinton doesn't live in Arkansas anymore.

Maybe she put the sign on his presidential library.

And the questions remain:
1) If they have "paid their debt to society" why do we even know who they are, let alone where they are?
2) If they are still a danger to society then, uhm, why are they out thus requiring us to know their whereabouts?

The prisons have only so many beds and the same could be said of the White House, even when a Democrat occupies it.

Perhaps it's time to re-examine the justice system and adjust it to serve the people, instead of the criminal. Some crimes are so heinous or such indications that the perpetrator is beyond rehabilitation -- such as sex crimes against children -- that there needs to be a permanent place for these people away from regular society. They should be forced to work to pay for their upkeep.

Screw their debt to society. What do the victims say about the scumbags? If one of my loved ones were to fall victim to one of those maggots, I don't believe he would want to know his future for the rest of his life.

Because today seldom does the punishment fit the crime.

I think those were rhetorical questions. If they're a danger, then obviously the punishment should fit the crime and they should not be let out.

If they're going to be released, they should live in a halfway house - next door to the judge who thinks he's ready to rejoin the rest of the civilized world.
