Russian Biathlete Expelled From Torino for Doping
Thursday, February 16, 2006
Associated Press

CESANA, Italy — Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva was thrown out of the Olympics and stripped of her silver medal Thursday for failing a drug test, the first athlete caught for doping at the Torino Games.

Pyleva, who won silver at the 15km event Monday, was scratched just before the start of Thursday's 7.5km sprint, in which she was considered a leading medal contender. She also won gold and bronze medals at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games.

A hastily-convened, three-member IOC panel found Pyleva guilty of a doping violation. She had tested positive for the banned stimulant carphedon in a urine test following Monday's race...........http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,185095,00.html

They know they are going to be tested! So why in the world don't they get the crap out of their system before the Olympics start? And if they know they can't compete without being hopped up on drugs, then why even try? Like I said, they know they are going to be tested. It's no big surprise!

Never mind the lack of integrity and moral fortitude of these people....they're just plain stupid!

As much as I enjoy the games, especially the Winter games, they have become a joke... This is no longer healthy competition... This is a circus of primadonnas willing to do anything to win... Some have doped themselves so much, they have mutated into something that is only human in the loosest possible sense...

When I saw the word biathlete in the title I thought it referred to, well, something else . . .

I dont like watching the Olympics that much anymore because its mostly a contest between who has the most steroided enhanced super athletes.

I think Carphedon is a testosterone supplement. Draw your own conclusions....
