Is there anyway to check this? I tried to Google http://www.imyeway.com/ and it shows no entries. I don't remember joining anything like this (and it clearly indicates a "member number" like I've signed up for something.)

Anybody familiar with this, is it a scam (I tried Snopes too, and found nothing, but I might not have used the proper search parameters)? Is this what is known as a "Phishing Scam"? If it is, who do I alert about this?

Forgive me if this seems stupid, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I wouldn't respond at all.

Maybe just report it to your IP.

I logged in using the link you supplied. Filled in all the requested info (bogus, of course) and then it takes you through page after page of advertisements. Each page would assure me, "You're almost there to receive your $1800!". After a couple of minutes and quite a few pages of that, I was starting to fall asleep, so I quit.

Then I went back and deleted all the cookies in my PC, figuring it had probably dumped scores and scores of 'em while filling out their bogus forms....

Do not, repeat NOT, give them your email address.

A DNS lookup for that site returns "Moniker Privacy Services", a known source of spam. Delete it.

Thanks y'all -- I KNEW my gut feeling was the right one. I'm going to forward it the security dept of my ISP. Thanks again!

Yep. Never EVER give a valid, working email address when visiting a site like that. But it was fun poking around a bit on their website, after giving them a bogus email address. After a couple of minutes of reading ads however, I got bored and left the site.

And don't forget to erase the cookies after bidding adieu to that site!

A general rule of thumb to live by is

"If it sounds too good to be true, it is."

"If it sounds too good to be true, it is."

That is normally my mantra, however, there have been occassions ... my family HAS 'won' some things, and have benefitted from some instances that seemed really good (almost -- catch that, almost -- too good to be true). My mother signs me up for stuff, because she thinks I am "lucky," a habit she picked up from my late father who was even worse than her at "volunteering" me so I could get some benefit or goodie.

That's why I wanted to be careful and not just ditch this -- If I had, and it was legit, my mother would be furious at me (believe me, I know, I DID ignore something once, and we could have had free family portraits for 2 years -- my Mom was SO mad at me!).
