Within the last 2 days I noticed a file under my favorites... I'll delete the file called links.... And within an hr or so it's re-created.... Does anyone know why that is? There's never anything in the folder, it just says empty....

I have had files mysteriously appearing in favorites. It was a spyware issue.

A good spyware solution was produced by a Dutchman It is actually a number of spyware solutions in one, that all run automatically, accept for a few times when you have to click "yes" to agree to users agreements. It will take some time to run and some of its features (but by no means all) have a tryout limit. You should also let it run alone when you're not using the computer. It is a great tool, absolutly free and can be downloaded at:

That's the Links toolbar in IE, and it's a standard feature, which is why it comes back. Some people, including yourself, don't use it, but most do. I find it invaluable because I can access my most used links without having to navigate the menu system. If you want to see it, right click on the "Go" button and deselect "Lock the Toolbars". You'll see "Links >>" appear next to the "Go" button. Left click and hold on it to drag it down below the address bar so it's visible. Any favorite you save in the Links folder will then appear on that Links toolbar and all you have to do is click it once to go to that page. The Links toolbar also allows you to create folders that appear as a dropdown menu when you click them, so you can access the favorites within that folder. Very convenient.

It's not the toolbar.. Its the drop down menu from the top *favorites*.. In there is the folder that keeps re-creating itself called links

Yes, that folder is for the Links toolbar. It always appears in the Favorites folder. That's normal operation.
