Senate Approves Patriot Act Renewal
<!-- END HEADLINE --><!-- BEGIN STORY BODY -->By LAURIE KELLMAN, Associated Press Writer 15 minutes ago
The Senate on Thursday voted overwhelmingly to renew the USA Patriot Act, after months of pitched debate over legislation that supporters said struck a better balance between privacy rights and the government's power to hunt down terrorists.
The 89-10 vote marked a bright spot in President Bush's troubled second term as his approval ratings dipped over the war in Iraq and his administration's response to Hurricane Katrina. Renewing the act, congressional Republicans said, was key to preventing more terror attacks in the United States.
Bush, in a statement issued by the White House while he was in India, applauded the Senate for what he said were attempts by Democrats to block the bill's passage.

Yet another stunning defeat for the obstructionist, anti-America, anti-military, anti-defense, pro-taxes, pro-big government Democrat Party!

I can't seem to find the vote tally/summary -- am looking here:
U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote Summary - 109th Congress, 2nd Session (http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/vote_menu_109_2.htm)
Is there somewhere else to find this information?

Exactly. There is no indication that President Bush's approval numbers have dropped lately, much less dropped "due to the war in Iraq" or "due to Hurricane Katrina".
The AP "news" writers are such mentally dull saps. They lack any skills whatsoever to go beyond asking themselves, "Hmmm, let's see, did Dan Rather run with BS the last time we checked? Yeah, he did, so OK, let's run with this latest AP poll without checking it out ahead of time either. That makes sense to us here at the Associated Press."
Thank Goodness...what the heck was all of the trash talk about anyway? Just trying to stir up emotions and fears?

The 89-10 vote marked a bright spot in President Bush's troubled second term as his approval ratings dipped over ... his administration's response to Hurricane Katrina.
Yeah. This is another non-issue that the "unbiased" MSM will try to turn into a "scandal," and that liberals will lap up like dogs lap up water on a hot summer day. Just like Cheney's hunting accident.
Brace yourselves, guys.

Democrats such as Kerry and Kennedy are such utter and complete frauds.
But, as such, they pretty much epitomize today's Democrat Party.

It seems pretty clear that the argument over the PA was just to get the base excited and on-board. They didn't think for one second that they WOULDN'T vote for it. The controversy was a sham just to pander to the libs.
And even the LIBS voted for it. The democrat politicians don't even believe what they say.
