Is it a male or a female?

I believe Calley is a gal pal.

Just wondering. I used to have a male Calico cat, also named Calley (or Cali, or Kali, or whatever). Apparently, healthy males are almost unheard of, or at least that's what the vet told us, right after having performed the operation to neuter him.

I've heard that male Calico's are rare in the extreme.
My Calley is a young female. I don't know the precise age, but the vet says she's between 6 months and 1 year old. One sweet little cat.

Our cat, on the other hand, used to go out and hunt ducks in the slough...

She's on my lap, purring loud.

Done. Calley loves to be scratched all around her neck and behind and under her ears. When I do that, her eyes squinch shut and the purring gets louder. Definite happy cat sounds.

I was over at Rocketman's house last night to get a radio fixed, and he too has a calico cat. Almost identical coloring to my Calley.

Guys
We have this yellow stray cat that hangs around our house. He just ate a giant rat right in my yard. It was sooooooo disgusting. LOL I was going to start dinner and we all (hubby and son) kinda decided to wait a while :-)

Back to Cally-
Cally reminds me so much of a calico cat we had when my son was little. Her name was Leah. She was my all time favorite kitty. I miss her so much. Calicos are so smart. Leah used to go for long walks with us every day down the road and I swear, she would walk right beside us like a well trained dog. :-)

When she's not catching her morning nap, Calley follows me all over the building. I guess her mother didn't teach her the proper two syllable meow (ME-OW). Calley just goes OW.
She's great company. No mice in the building, either.
