While Sgt. Jason R. Lyon was serving with the Army in Iraq, he suffered a sprained ankle when he jumped off a Humvee. He also nearly had his head blown off by a roadside bomb that killed three of his friends.
After extensive medical treatment and physical therapy, military doctors have certified the Hamburg serviceman physically fit to return to combat duty in Iraq.
But the U.S. Postal Service says he is physically unfit to deliver mail. (http://buffalonews.com/editorial/20060321/1071578.asp)
He's a white male. So that makes him physically unfit. Gotcha.

Considering its checkered past relating to in-house slaughters, maybe the postal service has nixed him because he knows how to handle a weapon.
Seriously, the postal service is notorious for its nitpicking when considering people for employment.

I doubt he'd have any problems if he wasn't a white male. There are no white male letter carriers out here. Zip, zero, nada.
I don't know about other places, but they're all women and minorities in this area. That's amazing when you consider how many white males live in this great occupied state of Californication.

If that was the case, they never would have hired my former Army Ranger friend. Oh wait...he's black. Nevermind.

The reason I never considered a career in the postal department was because I wanted my career to end at something other than a gun barrel.
That being said, they are extremely on the affirmative action bandwagon because its an easy job to get and it pays extremely well, so it's perfect for minorities who may have harder times getting "good" jobs.

They say walking is good for you, but I haven't seen a mailman yet who looked like he could kick a truck driver's ass.
The postal sysytem appears to be very selective, it's true. Here in this little town, maybe two are hired out of the many who take and pass the exam. What's up with that? Or is someone pulling someone's leg?

The exam is a placement exam. Meaning, in theory of course, the best and the brightest are placed first on the list, and chosen first. However, with affirmative action in the mix, it is more likely that they are choosing the first asian female, or whatever their quotas need, who may not in fact be the best candidate for the job. You know this, no doubt.
What government agencies often do is tell everyone that they can take the exam for current job opportunities. They may only hire two, but they now have 20 or 30 future candidates for jobs that they won't post the notifications to.

Well, all I can say is this is a Civil Lawyer's dream... Im suprised they aren't lined up at his door begging him to initiate a lawsuit against the US Postal Service...
I've come to the conclusion that the USPS has outlived its usefulness... There is absolutely NO REASON why this service cant be performed by private interests....
The USPS is utterly corrupt and racist, and Im suprised they havent been sued long before now...
Make note of this:
The office of Rep. Brian M. Higgins, D-Buffalo, has been trying to help Lyon in his dispute but without results. On March 11, Lyon got a letter from the Postal Service, saying a doctor for the service had refused to change her medical assessment.
That Doctor is a 'SHE', a woman, and I'd bet good money a male-hating, hyper-leftist Military-hating bitch.
