Yes, Wayne Allard, the US Senator from Colorado has a Mexican flag on his website. Apparently, he's catching hell. I don't know how long it will remain up there.

And there is no American flag similarly featured on Allard's website. I think I'm going to check other Senators' websites.

Astounding! Nice work, eagle-eyed friend. Check back soon with your report. While you're at it, you should check all the state reps along the border from Texas to California.

Were that I so eagle eyed! But I got the tip by listening to a webcast of Peter Boyles' talk show in Denver (It's on right now.) http://khow.com/pages/shows-boyles.html
BTW, even Fat Ted has more sense than Allard. The molester from Mass even features American flags at the top and has no Spanish language link. Brownback and Cornyn have Spanish language links--but no buzzard flags. Durbin, Specter, McCain, and Graham are buzzardless and "Spanishless", too. The real policy monsters, however, remain Tippling Ted, Specter, Durbin, and Juan McCain.

Dowple, shame on you. That's not his home site. That's his spanish speaking website. Most Congressmen and women have a spanish link on their sites as do most commerce sites who want to do business with the spanish speaking public. I agree that English should be the national language but I have a question for you Dowple. Did you check all of your Democrat elected officials websites too or are you just targeting Republicans?

Here is his home site. (http://allard.senate.gov/public/) Notice he's wearing a red white and blue tie. I did email the Honorable, Senator Allard suggesting he add the American flag to his home site. My husband is the President and CEO of a company and he doesn't design his own website. He's busy. You might take that into account when you judge Senator Allard. You might also take into account that Dowple is a Democrat.

I think I explained how I found out about Allard's site, from a Denver radio station. On my own, I just checked some of the other members of the Judiciary Committee's website--and reported what I have so far found. And the webpage for Allard is indeed from his Spanish language homepage, not the English one. And there is no similar display of the American flag on his English homepage!! BTW, Spanish is a language--not a nationality. Why is a MEXICAN flag on the official UNITED STATES Senate Spanish LANGUAGE homepage? Do you not see a problem with this?

Anybody that disagrees with you or puts out facts you find inconvenient is Democrat?

Dowple, I posted that I wrote Senator Allard suggesting he put an American flag on his home page. But no. I don't have a problem with it. He's an American for God's sake. He wears a flag pin on his lapel. What is your point?

Dowple are you denying that you're a Democrat?
Of course, I'm denying it. The Senate immigration bill, which I oppose and has generated so much of my ire, is, after all, a Democrat-McCain bill. A Democrat-McCain bill that only passed the Judiciary Committee because four Republicans defected on the issue. Why shouldn't I be angry at them? The hero in the Senate, btw, which I made clear in a thread last night is a Republican, Jeff Sessions. God bless him.

He's only targeting Republicans.
Even though over 200 Republicans in the House (the overwhelming majority of Republicans in the House) are calling for strict toughening of our laws against illegal aliens.
And even the the Democrats are threatening to filibustre if the Republicans try to bring that tough legislation to a floor vote.
But people such as Dowple can always find one or two Republicans who are on the side of the Democrats, so people such as Dowple keep whacking away at the Republicans, and give the Democrats a free pass, even though the difference between the two parties on the illegal alien issue is stark indeed.
That's how Dowple plays the game. Just like the MSM is playing it, in fact - "The two parties? Oh, they're both the same when it comes to illegal aliens!"

Okay Dowple, I apologize if I called you the dirty name. "Dem". I'm on your side. I just think you made a mountain out of a mole hill over Allard's spanish link. Other than that you and I agree on the immigration mess.
BTW, I agree with you too NA.

What is your point?I can't speak for Dowple, but it does bother me that he uses a Mexican flag. As was pointed out, it's a spanish language site not a Mexican site. Hispanics come from far more countries than just Mexico, so that does seem to be a bias towards Mexicans in particular. I agree that it's nothing major in the grand sheme of things, and I also agree that the absence of an American flag on his main site doesn't mean he's anti-American, but a predisposition towards mexicans does seem evident. You may very well be right that he himself didn't design it that way. In fact, I'd bet you are right about that. How much you wanna bet a Mexican employee designed it?

Thank you. I appreciate the comment. BTW, I just heard on Boyles' show before he signed off for today that Allard intends to remove the Mexican flag. A spokesman said Allard outsourced the webpage work and didn't know the buzzard flag was up there. I'm willing to believe him.

Whoah, all I did was follow a dotted line. As Dowple pointed out, the Spanish language area is part of his home page. And why should it matter if he were a Democrat or not? I'd be outraged if a Democrat put the Mexican flag on his home page. Why should I be less outraged if a Republican did it? IF a Democrat points out an inconsistency, is it the fault of the Democrat, or the person guilty of the inconsistency? And make no mistake about it - this is a GLARING inconsistency.
Incidentally, if he wants to cater to Spanish-speaking constituents, so be it. But he really should put up a flag for Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Cuba, Honduras, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Dominican Republic and, of course, Spain.
How come Dowple gets an apology and I don't?

Still best buddies. Maybe I shouldn't post until I recover from my surgery. I'm not myself. They put 5 holes in my right shoulder and cut on my left wrist for carpal tunnel. My right shoulder is a mess. Arthritis from an old injury and somehow I tore it about 6 months ago. Now I'm doing about 6 months in PT. It's only been a couple of weeks since the surgery and I'm still feeling goofy. So I'm sorry Boat and Dowple.

That'd put me in a bad mood, too. I hope you feel better soon. Don't waste another thought about my feellings. I'm a high school teacher working with knuckle-draggers, shaved-head cretins and clueless administrators. My skin is pretty thick after 20 years of this. ;)

If you scroll down the Google image page for 'Wayne Allard' (http://images.google.com/images?q=wayne+allard&hl=en)he begins to appear more and more constipated. Its like one of those computerized aging projections. (Okay, ignore the chili-eating race car driver with the same name.) When you get to page three, his face begins to get beat red like he's all bound up or like one of those deflated red dodgeballs in school. Something is eating the man up. He needs Prilosec.

FWIW, I just clicked on the link I started this thread with. The buzzard flag is gone! Oh, to be a fly on the wall of Allard's office this morning as the telephone calls came in. At least he's listening to the will of his constituents on this flag issue. Now, if he'll only do the same thing regarding the Senate immigration bill.
