Ok I was surprised to read of a claim that global warming stopped in 1998 and has been about zero either way since.
So I read the posted article with anticipation and when finished was fuming.The article is a lie since the Climate Research Unit never said such a thing on their own website!

The newest and best way to determine global temperature is to use satellites to measure the temperature of the lower atmosphere, giving the Earth a uniform global sweep, oceans included, with no cities to create a false warming bias. This second method, used since January 1979, has a published margin of error of +/- 0.05 C/decade, and is clearly the best record we have. Here are Global Mean Temperature anomalies of the lower atmospherefor the 27-year period January 1979 to March 2006. It shows a very different picture to that of the global `surface record' over the same period.

Here in this link is the MONTHLY Satellite data from 1979 to march 2006.

There from 1998 a total of 86 months of warming and 13 months of cooling.7 of the cooling months were in 1999.
From late 2000 to mid 2004 there was a streak of 44 consecutive months of warming.
Sorry fellas but there is a warming trend since 1998.
