A job for life, generous bennies, the pick of tee times, and compliments from every lawyer in town can't make up for the reality of "low" pay on the federal bench. Making between $149,132 and $208,100 (on par with the vice president and House speaker) just doesn't cut it anymore for the black-robed class. Listen to Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. "We are patronized when we meet judges from England, the European Union, or Malaysia, whose salaries double that of ours," he tells a House subcommittee. "They say, 'We're so sorry about your salaries.' You shouldn't put us in that position."

His dramatic complaints reveal that judicial pay has gone from a whine to a serious issue that Chief Justice John Roberts plans to raise with Congress.

Well, 150K to 200 grand ain't what it used to be, is it?

Why don't liberals just pull a Johnny Depp and move to Europe, if they like it so much (that goes for you, too, Judge Kennedy). At least Depp put his money where his mouth is and moved to France (where else?) I wish all liberals had Depp's honesty.

I'll take that kinda money, thank you! With my liabilities, re-current training plus the cost just to get my certifications, I feel worth it.

Judges? Pretty easy to sit, listen and then make a judgement based on personal bias which is what happens these days!

Someone needs to tell the whining pussy that at least he can AFFORD to go to Europe to hear their judges mocking his salaries. The rest of us have to read about Europeans in the papers because we can't even afford a f**king bus ticket to travel in our own country.
