Neil Young urges Bush impeachment on protest album

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Veteran rocker Neil Young has recorded a protest album featuring an anti-Iraq war track with "a holy vow to never kill again" and a song titled "Let's Impeach the President," the singer said on Monday.

The 10-track set, called "Living with War," was recorded this month by a "power trio" -- electric guitar, bass and drums -- plus trumpet and a 100 voices, the 60-year-old Canadian-born musician announced on his Web site.

When I was young and a big Neil Young fan, I went to a midnight showing of his movie "Journey Into the Past." I was fortunate that in spite of my liberal views at the time, I was utterly opposed to drug abuse, and held drug addicts in contempt. Imagine my disgust when I watched him sitting on a bumper of his car, munching on 'shrooms and washing them down with a jug of wine.

It pains me to reveal I once owned two albums by the most excruciatingly nasal, whiny voice north of the Canadian border. His sloping brow always gave him a Neanderthal appearance which was mistaken for a deep-thinking stare by other Neanderthals of that age. My slope has corrected itself with age, but poor Neil still looks like he's challenged with the buttons on his coat. And he's still whining about it.
