A good night at the Border

My regular partner had to work tonight, my partner was an 86 year old man, who has been going out with us since we started last May, he had not had a detension in all that time. I have worked with the old guy a number of times, I've got to watch him, he sometimes wanders off to check something totally irrelevant out. Half the time when I get him back to the truck he gets in and goes to sleep, which is ok in some places, but tonite we were by a lemon grove, it is a spot that can be hard to manage, when they come out of the grove, things happen fast, and you've got to move to stay on top of things, I would have prefered a more observant, agile partner, but it worked out ok.

About an hour after we got on our post 10 illegals came out of the lemon grove, I hit them with the spotlight, and told them to stop, they stopped, and sat down immediately. My partner called them in, BP got there in about 15 minutes, and took them. About 45 minutes later 3 more came out of the groves, when I got the light on them they were down in a dry canal, there were two BP sitting a quarter of a mile away, they got there within a couple of minutes.

The old man was walking in tall cotton the rest of the night, after all that time, 13 in one night was a bonanza.

There were about 18 of us out tonight, we got a total of 22.

Who said they detained? All they did was tell them to stop and they did. They were probably decoys for thousands who were going around the area.

Who said they detained? All they did was tell them to stop and they did. Some of the statements made it sound that way.

The word will quickly be distributed among the trespassers that the Minutemen have no powers to detain, and then they will really have earned the title of Uh-Oh Squad, in my eyes.

Give the Minutemen teeth, and tell the politicians to go chew some prunes!

Probably the same way the drug police make a multi-million dollar bust on a decoy while the multi-billion major haul comes into the country through another route. But that's another topic.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
