View Full Version : I oppose war.

If anyone asks, I am anti war.

I believe that war is one of the greatest evils that plagues mankind. The Second World War cost the lives of over 25 million people. For what? So some have mad punk could make himself powerful? So the Germans could dominate Europe and spread their hatred and oppression? So the Japanese people could have an Empire? No. Bad idea. I vote no on the whole notion.

What of the Cold War? Over 200 million dead in the name of Communism, and still it infests our planet. I vote no. Let those who want to be communists do as they please, and leave the rest of the world alone.
What of Iraq? Is war there a good thing? Of course not! Its never a good thing when we have to send Americans to kill or be killed. It isnt a good thing when errant bombs kill the innocent, or when violence erupts in the streets and nobody is safe. I am, have been and remain 100% against war with Iraq.

Unfortunately, Saddam Hussein, like Hitler, Stalin and others before him, did not share my aversion to war. And so, like in the past, Americans are dragged into a fight we did not want and tried desperately to avoid. Was it a war for oil? Yes, and for power. Hussein was bent on dominating the Middle East and controlling the worlds largest known oil reserves, following in Hitlers footsteps to bring power and glory to himself at the expense of the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocents. War with Iran ended in a draw. He was able to take and briefly pillage Kuwait, but was thrown out nearly at the cost of his country. Still, he persisted. His ambitions were unchanged. He pursuit of WMD was greater than ever.

The facts are clear. Hussein was supporting terrorists including Al Qaeda. Hussein was funding everyone who came to him with a plan for WMD. Hussein was trying to obtain nuclear weapons and long range missiles. Hussein was seeking ways to weaponize Ricin and disperse it using UAVs. Hussein was ordering that American aircraft be fired upon on a daily basis. Hussein was arming and giving safe have to terrorists. Hussein ordered the assassination of a US president. If Hussein could have launched a thousand attacks like the one on 9/11 he would have in a heartbeat. That he was not personally involved in the attack on 9/11/2001 is completely irrelevant, if, in fact, he was not.

These are not unfounded allegation, but documented facts. They cannot be refuted, only denied by fools and the ignorant. Were there errors in the pre-war intelligence? Certainly. We allowed Hussein the required time to stash his WMD. Had Hussein actually COMPLIED with the UN resolutions but been too afraid of his enemies to admit it? If you think that, you know NOTHING of the man. Hussein was a Hitler wannabe. He caused the deaths of over 250,000 people, and maybe closer to 350,000. Husseins quest for power would end only with his destruction. We wanted peace, but Hussein wanted war.

So what of the masses of the ignorant, marching in the streets carrying signs denouncing the war? Most of them are simply America hating extremists who march in protest of global warming, guns, big corporations, world trade etc. Some of them are rabid haters of President Bush who foster a hatred that began when he answered "Jesus Christ" to the question of who was his favorite philosopher. Some hate him simply because their party is out of power and Bush is the one they blame. Some hate him just to hate.

I am against war, but sometimes peace lies only on the other side of war. There was no peace in Iraq during the Hussein regime. There hasnt been peace in the Middle East since the Islamofascists found government sponsorship, and there will be no peace until they are destroyed. Since I am one who loves peace, I believe that we should work toward peace at all costs.

Those who march in the street saying they are against war need to take a good long look at what they are FOR. Do they really support the systematic murder and oppression of the innocent? Do they support the idea of Hussein taking over the Middle East and holding the worlds energy supply hostage? Do they really support nuclear weapons in the hands of people who will willingly use them? Are they really for anything, or are they nearly mouthpieces of hate.

In my hometown there are none who protest the fallen heroes at their funerals. There are no television cameras in front of which they can strut. Such behavior would not be tolerated. The offensive, hated filled degenerates would be beaten with their own signs. After all, if you are against those who sacrificed all in the name of freedom, you must be FOR the Islamic terrorists. That makes you our enemy. Peace lies on the other side of your destruction.

War is not the best way to settle your differences...but, sometimes it's the ONLY way to prevent them being settled for you. ~~~G.K. Chesterton

Good job--saves being accused of using torture unless, of course, you made Abdul get naked b/4 you shot.

I'm against war too, but sometimes it is necessary, and sometimes war is thrust upon you whether you want it or not.

As much as we all hate war it really is something we cannot avoid. As long as there are people like muslims who want us to either bow down to their god or die, we will always have wars. Wars are fought because we will not be made slaves to crazy, violent idiocracy. Wars have been fought to give us all the right to say we are against war or to say whatever we want to say (to protect our right to do so). As long as there is evil in the world, there will be war.

Americe went to war with England to gain our independance, and has been fighting to preserve it ever since.

No sound, rational person wants war. But then, wars are not usually started by sound, rational people. The war on terrorism is a clash of civilizations, modern VS medieval.

Who are we fighting? I saw video images of some of our enemies last night. They were marching in New York, carrying signs that praised the terrorists, called for mushroom clouds in America, and exhorted Muslims to rise up and fight the Christians and Jews. I thought about those people for a moment. The more I thought about it, the more I decided that if someone had walked up to one of those vemin and shot him in the head, that the act would have been completely justified.

There is no distinction between the terrorists and the people or nations who support them. Whether a terrorist supporter is in Baghdad or New York, he is the same. He is our enemy and he deserves to die. National origin has no bearing on our enemy. If he is a terrorist or a supporter of terrorism, kill him. Period.

Certainly this will have the whiney liberals in a tizzy. They already have soiled their panties over the rights of terrorists in Guantanemo Bay. They believe these animals should be given the same access to American courts as American citizens. I say they should have access only to American ammunition. One round per terrorist.

...The President of Iran wants to start a new war, too. :shake:

He really does want to find out what a yawning crater full of radioactive glass in downtown Tehran looks like, doesn't he?

They keep pushing us into war and then when we strike back they call us bullies. It's propaganda at it's best (or rather worst). There are many ways to fight a war and our enemies now use the liberal media to attack us as much as they use bombs and mortar. Between the radical muslims and the radical media, we have our hands full for sure. I have a newsflash for anyone trying to start a fight with America, YOU WILL LOSE!

Speaking as a veteran to all the people who protest the war I ask they only remember one thing while they're marching around shouting hatred for their own country.

It was the deaths of many Americans in a number of wars that earned you that right to be there carrying your sign. So while you are bashing America, perhaps you ought to take a second to thank the veterans and the fallen for your ability to do so.

We have to identify the fact that America has as many enemies at home as we do abroad. Liberals seek the destruction of America and the reversion to a simple, earth friendly way of life that they don't practice now. Liberals are too stupid to recognize that the destruction of America equates to their own destruction, because every liberal is, by definition, an idiot. The fact is, another attack like the one on 9/11 would be a ratings bonanza for CNN, so why WOULDN'T they want to see it happen?

We are not at war with nations. We are at war with fanatics. We have many such fanatics at home. Let's kill them first and make our home safe while we hunt down the others.

Speaking as a veteran........You need to post something here (http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5811). Ignore the thread title. It started out as retirees, but was expanded to include all veterans.

I hate garbage. It just piles up, sits there on the curb like a giant ugly eyesore stinking, attracting flies and rats that carry disease. The longer you ignore it, the worse it becomes.

I also hate the racket of the garbage truck, the clashing of cans and lids and the diesel spewing black smoke straining to hydraulically compress the whole mess.

I hate the toxic methane wasteland bare of vegetation where mountains of garbage are dumped.

And what sort of men would do this thankless job, getting up early and collecting everyones garbage for little pay, coming home having to take hour long showers just to get the filth and stink off?

There are those that shout out against garbage and the filthy noisy garbage men and their roaring machines and the mountains of garbage they create.

of course I know we will never see the end of garbage and I am thankful to the men willing to do the job to keep the neighborhood clean and safe for decent folk to live.

Those that protest against it are simply not thinking things through.
