Risk free, my eye. This is just the latest (sick) twist on the Nigeria Scam. I'm going to forward it to my State AG.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Hmmm.... The Nigeria scam has moved to Iraq now? The genre is replete with stories about big sums of money once owned by former or deceased dictators. I used to get a lot of this stuff until I changed my e-mail adress.

the fact that this puke is posing as US Military is infuriating.

I forwarded this to my daughter, who is part of a group of fun-loving souls that specialize in leading the bastards on for weeks or months by feigning interest while forcing them to engage in time-consuming email exchanges. They'll ream this son of a bitch a very large new aft portal.

It is beyond infuriating. Our military does a damn good job of keeping us all safe, while they risk their lives day in and day out. Why do they risk our lives? They believe in their cause, they believe they are righteous, and they believe in protecting the civilians back home.
That anybody could even THINK to impersonate them is pathetic, and disturbing. What is this world coming to?

Sounds a little like one I got. I'm trying to sell my house so I listed it on the "For Sale By Owner" website. I got an email from an "interested" buyer who said they were American but living in France working for an American company. The "deal" was that the company would the house and send me a check for several hundred thousand and that a rep would be there at closing who would take the "change" after I deducted the $88K I was asking for my house. It sounded like a money laundering deal to me so I ignored it.
