'Mission' Fizzling? Box Office Imploding

"Mission: Impossible 3" had a tough weekend: The total take, according to boxofficemojo.com (http://boxofficemojo.com/), came to $48 million. And this was a wide, wide release: More than 4,000 theaters (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,194537,00.html#) unreeled Tom Cruise and company’s latest adventure if you wanted to see it. The problem, it seems, is that a lot of people didn’t.

How to measure the "M:I:3" opening weekend? Last year, "War of the Worlds," Cruise’s last movie (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,194537,00.html#), earned $64.8 million on its opening. The number of theaters was comparable.

I wasn't impressed by the first two, so wasn't expecting much out of the third. Also, Mr. Cruise has been on an impossible mission for about a year now . . . trying to convince people he's sane whilst actually going off his rocker.

I might catch it on DVD (if Bubba or my son decides to rent it), otherwise, making into my house and DVD player will also be a mission impossible.
