George Bush suggests that brother Jeb should run for President.
At his absolute lowest point in popularity, at a time when people are already questioning the Dynastic ambitions of the Bush family, at a time when opposition to illegal immigration is descending into out right racisim and hatred, he suggests his brother should run for president.
It gives myopic politician a whole new meaning.

At his absolute lowest point in popularity ...More accurately, at a time when there are three or four shamelessly biased MSM "approval" polls every farking week, and after five-plus years of unrelenting, monomaniacal hatred of and contempt for Pres. Bush from the libeRATs and their fawning toadies in the drive-by media, it's astonishing that the numbers are as high as they are.
... at a time when people are already questioning the Dynastic ambitions of the Bush family ...But they utter not a syllable about the Kennedy dynasty that has been corrupting US politics for half a century.
... at a time when opposition to illegal immigration is descending into out right racisim and hatred ...On this point, I have no argument. It would be useful to be told the logic behind kissing up to Fox (although Meheeco's status as the US' #2 supplier of imported oil doubtless plays a major role).
... he suggests his brother should run for president. As is his right. That means nothing in the real world.

It would be funny if there were a lot of more attractive alternatives. Unfortunately, there aren't.

It would be funny if there were a lot of more attractive alternatives. Unfortunately, there aren't.I think its way too early to start saying that... We need to focus on the election we have on our plate today before lamenting that there are no other presidential candidates... We will have more than enough to choose from as we approach '08...
Your point is well noted, Kathy...

I don't know a thing about Jeb, and what I learn will determine my position on him as prez. Whether George W. and/or George H. W. recommend him won't mean a thing to me.

I think Jeb should've run back in 2000. Obviously I don't see him in the news as often as his older brother, but he strikes me as W with a brain.
I think he'd be capable.
Kennedy's are all a mess, I'd never support a Kennedy running for any office, unless it was president of the local AA meeting. Too self-destructive to govern.

I dont think I could support another Bush running for President. Dubya has been too big a disappointment on too many issues.

I like Jeb Bush, he has been a good Governor of our state. That does not qualify him for the Presidency, however, and I'm afraid I have to agrree with others, I just don't believe American can swallow another Bush Presidency.
I am uncommitted as of this moment to any candidate, as I've seen NONE behind whom I can stand. SOMEBODY better start making some good in-roads to the Republican nomination, though, because being behind the eight-ball (which looks like Hillary Clinton), is going to be a hard position from whence to come out.

Americans have a healthy dislike and distrust of dynasties. It is highly unlikely they will vote for another Bush based on that alone.
Jeb Bush is an even more open borders advocate than brother George if that's at all possible.
For those two reasons alone he would never be president. This is just how out of touch George Bush is. I cannot believe that he is unaware of the effect his border policies have on the people. Millions of people have been calling, faxing, e-mailing and just screaming for effective border control. When a petition was presented to him signed by millions, he refused to accept it.
American's aren't taking any more of this and aren't voting for an open borders advocate.

This is what I found on Brother Bush:
Jeb Bush on Immigration (http://www.issues2000.org/Governor/Jeb_Bush_Immigration.htm)
Florida Gov. Bush Calls Tone of Immigration Debate `Hurtful' - Los Angeles Times (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-jeb5apr05,0,4076175.story?coll=la-home-headlines)
Accusing politicians of "pounding their chests" on immigration for short-term political gain, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday that the tone of the debate had been "hurtful" to him and his Mexican-born wife, Columba.
Bush, the younger brother of President Bush, reserved some of his sharpest criticism for conservatives in his own Republican Party, calling it "just plain wrong" to charge illegal immigrants with a felony, as a provision passed by the Republican-led House would do. He also opposed "penalizing the children of illegal immigrants" by denying them U.S. citizenship, an idea backed by some conservatives but not included in the legislation.
Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush Urges Immigration Changes (http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/9/29/115502.shtml)
Gov. Jeb Bush urged the federal government to change its visa and immigration policies Thursday, saying the country needs to avoid stifling international travel and commerce.

Which of the two clowns, Hillary or jeb, if they are the horses in a two-horse race would an American vote for? None of this third party wimp out either. I'd pick Jeb.

There is nobody that can run that will beat the leftist this time. Bush has handed it to them as if it were his plan all along. We are screwed. I am voting for Ron Paul or whoever the Libertarian candidate will be knowing full well Hillarious will get in. Just as well, bring the country to it's knees so people will pull their heads out of their ass.
There ain't a true conservative in office in this country. McCarthy was right, we have been taking over from within. :whip:
I give the public more credit than some. I think many dont buy into all the negative spin the media hands out. The economy is strong and for the most part minus fuel prices and immigration people are content. And as far as fuel prices go I dont think that many blame Bush, they see the results of past policies and how they caused this.
Bush would be riding high in polls if the media accurately portrayed him, even with his lack of immigration action and his demorat like spending. 2006 will tell what 2008 will bring. But as bad as it may be, there is no way in hell I would ever vote in a way that would help put a rat in the whitehouse. Which is what a vote for a third party would do. Remember that nutty little texan, klinton has him to thank for the whitehouse and it could happen again.

Must be a slow venemous accusation day for the myopic Bush haters that one has so much pent up hatred that he can spew it all on Jeb, a very successful and popular governor in FL.
America elected two Adams, two Roosevelts, and the Bush haters are all starry eyed at the prospect of a second Clinton. I guess two is the limit. I must read the Constitution again because I don't remember that part.

I don't like Jeb. He's got a wierd face like one of those fat cherubs in mideval paintings. Like the man has a dumpling addiction or something. Everytime I see him I picture him at a Thanksgiving Day table, ladling gravy onto his spuds. He slurps it up like a wind tunnel. It drips down his chin and falls onto his belly and gets all over his Docker's. He just rubs it in and keeps eating.
