The Sun Online - News: Pregnant at 11 years old (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006210699,00.html)
By GAIL CAMERON
and JACQUI THORNTON
A CHAIN-SMOKING schoolgirl told last night how she fell pregnant during a drunken romp — at the age of just 11.
The petite youngster found she was expecting after losing her virginity to a teenager during the boozy one-night stand.
Lighting her third roll-up cigarette and watched by her proud 34-year-old mum, she confessed: “I didn’t think I’d get pregnant because it was my first time.
“But I’m really excited and looking forward to being a mum.”

Is this the British equavalent of the National Enquirer?
It, I think is an online tabloid.

The Sun is the Brit version of the Enquirer and the Weekly World News combined.

Unfortunately, it's nothing new. The hospital where I work (a county hospital) boasted the areas first 21 year old grandmother several years ago.
And I just got a shock realizing my oldest son is going to be 11 in 2 years. It's time to lock them in the closet.

Just for the record, I'm not normally in the habit of passing on "Enquirer-type" articles; this one was linked from Drudge. http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/icon7.gif

The Sun prints truth (as do the Enquirer, Star, et al), but at heart it's a sensationalist tabloid. My response was to, "Is this the British equavalent of the National Enquirer?" The WWN was added only semi-seriously.
Look up Page 6 to determine the target audience.

Oh no biggie, Doc -- I just didn't want folks thinking that I scour the gossip-rags for stories. This one was linked on Drudge, and it so upset me I wanted to post it and get others opinions. http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/Crying.gif My heart aches for children such as this, and parents (and BOY do I use that term loosely!) who "parent" their children in such a manner that things like this occur. I suppose the one blessing in the whole deal is that at least the child wasn't aborted. http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/icon9.gif

Look up Page 6 to determine the target audience.Damn! They moved it? It was always on page three when I lived there. In fact, "page three girl" was an accepted part of the national lexicon. There goes an era! LOL!

Quite OK. You live in the Land of Ted. We need 3000 pages to even talk about that fat, bloated bastard.

Girl and her mother are very happy. They are proud of the new mother. Which says something about their expectations.

Some how or other that leads me to suspect that there will be an increase in "benefits." You will always get more of anything you subsidize.
