Oklahoma Executes 74-Year-Old Convicted Murderer

McALESTER, Okla. — A 74-year-old man was executed Thursday for the nearly decapitating his stepson with a knife more than two decades ago.

John A. Boltz was the oldest death row inmate executed in Oklahoma and the third-oldest in the country since capital punishment was reinstated in 1977.

Officials had trouble finding a vein to inject the lethal drugs, delaying the execution for more than an hour at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. Boltz was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m.

Boltz was 52 when a jury convicted him of the 1984 killing. Doug Kirby, 22, had driven to Boltz's home to discuss threats Boltz had made against his estranged wife, who had asked for a divorce, authorities said.

The medical examiner said Kirby was stabbed eight times in the chest and abdomen and suffered a cut in the neck that nearly decapitated him. Boltz claimed he acted in self-defense........http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,197888,00.html

When they make me the Queen of the World (and they will someday), I'm going to put an end to this crappola of endless appeals while murdering scum and pedophiles get housed on the taxpayer's dime.

Almost every crime is going to be a death penalty offense, I'm going to give the convicted one year to prefect an appeal, and at the end of the year, it's lighs out! If a Court of Appeals (my first acton as Queen will be to banish all the bleeding hearts from the bench and put common sense/by the book judges on place) doesn't find a reason to overturn the conviction, then say your prayers, get ready to meet your maker.

Are most of you aware that Florida let Ted Bundy sit on death row and father a child, waiting to be executed?

The law will read that every county seat in every state will be required to build a gallows and the convicted will be brought from prison, back to the jurisdiction where he committed his crime, and there he will be hanged by the neck until dead.

I'm with Lubbock on this one...ONE trial and TWO appeals...that's it. If ya can't convince a jury of 12 "peers", and 2 appeals panels of 3 -5 "judges", y'all'r gonna fry...and immediately upon denial of the 2nd appeal. That would bring the "deterence" factor back into play.
