.....Lyndsey was shot to death just before 4 a.m. Sunday inside a Gilbert home at 1155 S. Cottonwood Court, police said. Michael Craig Lance, 40, who lived at the house, was arrested about noon in connection with the slaying —which police are calling Gilbert’s first homicide of the year.

He was booked into Maricopa County’s Fourth Avenue Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

The girl’s friend had called 911, but Lyndsey was pronounced dead at the scene from her injuries. No one else was hurt.

“We don’t know why she was shot,” said Gilbert Lt. Joe Ruet. “There was no indication of any altercation.”

Police said that when they arrived at the home, Lance was standing in the front yard smoking a cigarette.

Lyndsey had spent many nights there and the two girls’ families were close, police said. Lyndsey and her family were preparing to move out of Arizona.

Police said evidence found inside the home linked Lance to the killing, but declined to elaborate. They also wouldn’t say where in the home the girl was shot, or how many times. The weapon was a handgun, but police released no details......http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=67082

The Fundie spies will use this as an example of why we need to ban guns when we really need to make this moron pay for what he did.

Maricopa County? Oops. He's screwed. Hope he enjoys living in a tent in above-100 temps, chain-gangs, and backbreaking labor and pink handcuffs. (Yes, you heard right!)
