I think we should ban the American flag and design a new kinder and gentler flag for our country. After all, slavery existed far longer under the American flag than the Confederate flag. When I see the American flag, I think of genocide of American Indians (Jefferson Davis was appaled at how the Indians were treated after one battle) and slavery, not to mention the war crimes of William Tecumseh Sherman.

Isn't this sweet? The World Unity Project (http://www.jefferson.k12.ky.us/Schools/High/Waggener/STLP/WUP/Celia.html/) held a contest in Louisville, Kentucky, inviting area children "to design a flag to symbolize unity among all people and countries of the world." The winner flag design is a "beautiful testament to the desire of these students to take an active role in creating a safer, more peaceful world." As this soulful poetic phrase puts it,

Well, that's the best I can do without photoshop. Of course, the easiest one would be a simple white rectangle, the flag of surrender. That's really what they want, after all. Isn't it?

Well goodness they think the Southern Flag is so.... *GASP*horrible to be flying Anywhere esp up in space.

Hate to tell these perpetually offended twits but the Southern Flag is a symbol of Southern Heritage, NOT of slavery, as what was cited by another poster, the American flag flew over slaves in America far longer than the Southern Flag ever did.
