Fathers are the unsung heroes of our country today.

Greater than any athlete, rock star or celebrity.

More influential than any politician.

We don't give enough credit to fathers these days.

Mark Twain wrote, "When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years!"

I'm reminded of a clipping from a Dutch magazine I read a number of years ago.

At 4 years old, the child says, "My daddy can do anything."
At 7 years old, he says, "My daddy knows a whole lot."

At 8 years, "Dad doesn't know quite everything."

At 12 years, "Oh, well, naturally my dad doesn't know that, either."

At 14 years, "Dad is hopelessly old-fashioned."

At 21 years, "He is so out-of-date!"

At 25 years, "He knows a little bit about it, but not too much."

At 30 years, "I need to find out what Dad thinks about it."

At 35 years, "Before we decide, we need to get Dad's idea first."

At 50 years, "What would Dad have thought about that?"

At 60 years, "My dad knew literally everything."

At 65 years, "I wish I could talk it over with Dad one more time."

One factor is not cited: the feminazi-driven demolition of the concept of fatherhood. How many TV fathers are not incompetent or useless? How many times are single-parent families lionized (ala Murphy Brown)? How is the push for redefining marriage to encompass every combination of men, women and assorted quadrupeds affecting the concept of the nuclear family that is the foundation of society?

When society constantly hammers men with the demonic lies that they are all useless fools and are no longer important, it is inevitable that men will begin to believe it. The Big Lie works.

How many men wanting to be good fathers are denied the chance because the laws always favor the mother in divorces and child support? How many men who would make great fathers are left by the roadside because they are not "beautiful people"?

And when an organization such as Promise Keepers hold rallies designed to provide men with a new, positive outlook in manliness and fatherhood, it is inevitable that a gaggle of screeching, dildo-worshipping feminazi bitches will be there to attack the meetings and the men.

Laurie's points are all good, but they are not complete.
