288 ,000 new jobs created in May

288,000 new jobs were created in May 2006, bring the total of new jobs created since President Bush took office to 8 million. The unemployment rate dropped to 4.6%, well within the range of full employment in which everyone who really wants a job has one.

I should also point out that between the Clinton Recession that President Bush inherited and the 9/11 terrorist attacks, 2.5 million jobs were lost between January 2001 and January 2002. That means 10.5 million jobs have been created since January 2002.
