Soon Big Brother may be watching from the inside out. Like a Mars Orbiter (http://www.space.com/businesstechnology/technology/technovel_marstelecom_050505.html) beaming data back to Earth, a power-packed pill will soon be broadcasting from a stomach near you, transmitting both medical measurements and the device’s position as it travels through the body.

The 26-by-13-millimeter device, about the size of a multivitamin (http://www.livescience.com/humanbiology/060517_vitamin_panel.html) capsule, is designed to diagnose gastroparesis, or, in layman's terms, slow stomach emptying.

Uh, huh. I smelled that Tequila stuff one time. Got drunk when the lid came off. I know I ain't drinking it!

My wife is about to take one of those pills soon. She has to wear a recorder on a strap for a couple of days that receives and records the readings from the pill. Cool, but a little weird.

It sure beats having a camera and scope crammed up the rear so the docs can have a look-see.

Having been the victim of the camera/scope, I may rethink my position on swallowing worms.

The prep was worse than the scope, at least the second time. The first time they gave me no sedation whatsoever and I almost died on the way home due their doing it improperly. I'll spare you the details.

Ah, Rhino, I'm sorry for what you went through. Unfortunately, the medical community is rife with inept doctors and nurses. There are some amazing doctors and nurses, but it is a scary thing to fall into the hands of bad ones.
