Requiring American flags in every public school and university classroom seemed like such a good idea that state lawmakers took it a step further. They want to require the display of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, too.
On Tuesday, they approved a bill requiring that a poster of the Constitution be displayed on the wall, near the flag, of every public school classroom in the state. Lawmakers will also hang flags and founding documents in hearing rooms at the state Capitol. The measure now goes to Gov. Janet Napolitano.
House Bill 2583 affects only public schools. A move to extend the patriotic displays to private and parochial classrooms that receive Arizona tax credits was removed from the final version.
Some lawmakers criticized the bill as micromanagement. Others saw it as brilliant........http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0621flags0621.html
Of course, the academic intelligentsia are fighting this.
