Liriano had better get the final AL spot.

Call me biased, but I was disappointed that Jason Varitek of the Red Sox didn't make the team. What he does for a pitching staff can't be accounted for in RBI's or batting average. Ivan Rodriguez is no slouch behind the plate either I guess. I suppose I can't scream to much since Mark Loretta beat out Robinson Cano for 2nd base.
Overall, I think the roster for both squads was well and fairly selected. I'm also happy that Barry Bonds didn't make the team!:claps:

No offense, but Varitek doesn't compare with Mauer. Mauer's BA is 120 points higher, has more runs scored, more RBIs, twice as many doubles, more steals, an on-base percentage of 50 points higher, a slugging percentage 130 points higher -- and he calls the pitches for Santana and Liriano.
As for Bonds, I'm happy he didn't make it as well -- but I would have loved to see him face Santana. Oh yeah. Santana has a way of humbling batters like Bonds.
