Italy beats France to win World Cup

Zidane of France, who probably could have helped his team win on penalty kicks, was red-carded after a vicious head-butt in OT.

What an a**hole.

(Other players, on both teams, showed a very high level of sportsmanship, IMHO.)

BERLIN (AP) -- France captain Zinedine Zidane ended his career with a red card in the World Cup final.

In the 110th minute of Sunday's championship game, Zidane, who was playing the last soccer match of his career, headbutted Italy defender Marco Materazzi in the chest after the two exchanged words while walking down the field.

Referee Horacio Elizondo of Argentina sent him off with the game tied 1-1.

Its good the Italians won against the Morrocan/Algerian "French" team who played dirty tactics. I saw the Italians do 1 intentional attack on the Algerians and that was it. The Algerians did some nasty ones like the one where the italian got grabed on the face and the vicious headbutt by Zinedine Zidane Hussein plus the numerious trips they did as well. When ever the morrocan/Algerians fell to the ground they lyed there playing dead but magicly got up each time.

Besides Italy still has troops in Iraq and supports the USA while France(soon to be 'New Algeria') is anti-american.

The Italian Legionarii goalkeeper Buffon defended the Italian Empire from the Army of Napolean. :thumb:

If france(Algeria) had won I bet bill clinton would have been out there with the french players while Zinedine Zidane gives a speech about how his fellow Algerians should be released from Gitmo.



Funny, france couldnt get this far with their own country men except for like 1 or 2 that were actually french, they relied on Algerian and Morrocan imports. :rotflmbo:

I saw the last few fouls in that game and the Frenchies were definitely all over the Italians, smacking them in the face and the sides of their heads with their forearms and elbows at ever opportunity.

I've seen the acting and rolling about on the ground that these soccer players do, just like the kickers in the NFL when someone puts a pinky on their baby toe.

They drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Then they flop around like a fish out of water.

However, that Frenchie's headbutt was real and there is no way for that Italian to fake being thrown back that far in the air and then landing on his back. That was a blatant foul and I'm glad that jerk got tossed out.

Team captain, legendary hall of fame player or not. Frenchie showed no discipline and his team probably lost because of his stupidity.
