Citgo to Stop Selling Gas to U.S. Stations

The Associated Press

CARACAS, Venezuela -- Venezuela-owned Citgo Petroleum Corp. has decided to stop distributing gasoline to some 1,800 U.S. stations, shedding a lackluster segment of its business while forcing the owners of those stations to find other suppliers.
While it may create some logistical headaches for gasoline retailers in the short term, the move should not have any impact on the nation's overall fuel supply.

From the article:

The states where Citgo will stop selling gasoline are: Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma and South Dakota. A limited number of stations in Illinois, Texas, Arkansas and Iowa will also be affected.

Good. I hope CITGO shuts down all US operations.

I hate to see one dime go to support Chavez's government.

The petroleum is a commodity, traded continuously and sold at a market price. But CITGO is owned by the Venezuelan government, so profits are returned to directly support the Chavez regime. If the stations remain open and under CITGO control, regardless of where the gas comes from, money goes back into MiniCastro's pocket.

This is one of the few cases where boycotts make sense.

And I thought Chavez wanted to help low income Americans with cheaper fuel sales. I guess this says otherwise.

I figured that was the case ever since I found out that Venezuela owned Citgo, that it would all go to that commie pervert. Ever since, I've gone elsewhere to fuel my tank.
