Not only did the Yanks have the best trade deadline move- they virtually got something for, well....nothing. Welcome Abreu, Lidle...so long, uh, whoever you were in the minors. The Yankees now have a problem in that, we have so much talent we don't know what to do with it all.:D Sheffield when healthy may move to first base.
Best yet, after a 5-1 defeat of the Blue Jay's, and having won 6 of the last 7 the Yanks are in:
1ST PLACE.
I look forward with eager anticipation from here on out to seeing the Red Sox crumble while the Yanks kick in to high gear. The tradition has started early this year too.

Tied for 1st!!! But, if the Sox don't remove their heads from their fourth point of contact, the Yanks will be alone!
Yeah, Abreu was a good pick up. I like him.
As for us, losing Varitek hurts. Nixon I can live without. I think Pena does a better job these days.

For as much talent that the Yankins have, you'd think they'd be WAY ahead of everybody. And yet, they're only tied for 1st.
GO BOSTON RED SOX!!

Well, after what I saw tonight and of the past few nights, Buff, I concede the AL East. The Sox are proving they don't want it!:flame:

Muhahahahahhaha...I hate to say I told you so.....but.....I told you so....
In reality there is time, but as usual you guys should just start going for the wild card. The Yankees will finish strong, I know it.

Yeah, you have a point, however. The Red Sox are also very talented. We havn't had Zambrano all year long, we lost Matsui who was doing very well early on. Same with Sheff. Through all the injury and streaky pitching we have still managed to play at a high level.
October is all that matters, and August is what get's you there in the AL. The Yankees have been for some time now, one of the best finishers in the league if not the best.

When the Red Sox quit playing down to their competition they will be successful. That's what pisses me off about them!

I've said it for years. They'll play teams like the Yankees, A's and White Sox real well but turn around and get pummeled by the likes of the Devil Rays and Royals. (They'll lose 2 of 3 in KC, mark my word.)
Enjoy your AL East title!

Told you they would! They lost in the bottom of the 9th, 5-4 to the Royals. Season's over! Thank God football season is upon us!
GO KC Chiefs!!

Hey football we can agree on. I'm a Cowboys fan but as with any sport I usually have two teams, one underdogg and the other my die hard team. In football that team has always been the Chiefs (they were an underdogg most of my lifetime).
Go Cowboys! Go Chiefs (as long as it isn't at the Cowboys expense)

Well, since we play each other once every 3 or 4 years or so at best, I don't see it being an issue. Remember, the Chiefs were once the Dallas Texans WAAAAY back when!
I still have my newspaper clippings from when Derrick Thomas died. One is posted right by my computer. It was a long day for us Chiefs fans.

They got the best pitchers this year. Johan Santana is obviously worth every penny.
