Bonds hits No. 723, gets ejected, in loss to Rockies

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Things had never turned this ugly in San Francisco's 7-year-old waterfront ballpark. Fan behavior this bad brought everybody back to the rowdiest of days at Candlestick Park.

Yorvit Torrealba hit a three-run homer against his former team and also scored a run on a balk, leading the Colorado Rockies past the San Francisco Giants 5-2 Friday night in a wild game that featured Barry Bonds' 723rd career home run and later the ejection of the slugger.

Bonds hit a solo shot to center in the seventh for his first home run since July 20 against San Diego, a span of 26 at-bats. He was batting in the ninth when he began arguing with plate umpire Ron Kulpa about a called second strike. Eh.I see the umpires as being jerks in these cases. Guys say stuff all the time and there is too much discresion IMO on the part of the ump's. I see them put up with far worse(ejection comes at thrown bat, slammed helmet,getting up close and personal, and then sometimes a guy argues very slightly, under his breath almost and gets canned. Dems da Breaks....Im sure Barry is a bit of a target....roids and all.

Is it wrong to hope this guy has a career ending accident before he breaks Hammering Hanks record? You know something like getting a needle permanently stuck in his butt.

Barry is in my "All Baby League" of athletes. You know, the guys who demand they are the team and won't play if they aren't? Guys like him, Eric Lindross of hockey, Brian Bosworth of football and Kevin Garnett of basketball are also entries.
